First of all, why didn't they display a notice on the booking page stating that this hotel doesn't have a reception and that I would have to get the key from another nearby hotel and travel there?
Their marketing tactics are just too blatant. I barely managed to find another hotel on a hill, and when I told them I was there to pick up the key, they immediately started saying something in Spanish.
I told them I don't speak Spanish and asked if they could speak English so we could communicate, but the reception staff got incredibly annoyed! I got the feeling they were swearing in their own language. The fact that there was no mention of picking up the key at another hotel before booking is unacceptable. The hotel and the Trip.com website must apologize. That reception staff even yelled at me, telling me to cancel immediately and go to another hotel if I was unhappy about coming all the way here just to get the key.
Truly the worst reception experience ever.
Is that how you treat someone who went through the exhaustion of the pilgrimage just to get a key?

The Pension has a garden with picnic tables and deck chairs, even though it is in the city centre. Across the road, up the stairs, is the market with local products. As welcome we got coffee capsules, and some herbal tea, each floor has a kettle and coffee machine in the hall. Staff in the main hotel super friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem, when we asked for help. Their main restaurant - very fancy.

The location is very central and close to everything. The coffee machines were very frustrating, some worked, some didn’t, some had water most didn’t, no creamers. It took myself and a fellow traveller 25 minutes to get two coffees. The hotel itself is quite noisy, the walls are not sound proof so every morning and evening you can hear each floor of people moving around. The market right across the street was awesome.

Had to check in at a different property that was nearby. Once we figured all that out, the staff was super helpful and friendly and gave us tips on places to go and see while we were there. Enjoyed our room too. Cozy, comfortable and near historic sites, which we loved!
