Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaragua Hotel & Casino

My room was in the garden building- I would’ve appreciated a more transparent description of what the room would be like… it was in a completely separate building from the main hotel & had a clear view of the parking lot. The room was decent, it wasn’t extremely nice but it was comfortable. Aesthetics aside, the service was great. The staff were sometimes a bit or miss, they weren’t always overly polite but they were always helpful, but majority of the of the staff I interacted with were both kind and helpful. The bellhop who took my luggage to my room gave us great recommendations of where to go for dinner, the front desk clerks were all very helpful with anything we asked for, one day it was raining and a staff member was waiting at the end of the walkway with an umbrella escorting guests across an uncovered area. In the business lounge, that had a beautiful view of the city, we were helped by a staff member named Ernesto who was extremely friendly, very personable & also gave us tips on where we could go for dinner to have a fun night. Very kind staff, & very nice services.

This hotel is perfect on all levels. I will be returning again in a few weeks. The rooms are spacious and clean, the hotel grounds are immaculate, the food was amazing. I can honestly say it was great and the service was even better. I totally recommend this hotel.

The customer service at the hotel was excellent. I got to the hotel very late in the night and they were very accommodating. The room when I entered was clean and fresh and everyday when I came back from my meetings, it was always cleaned. On my first day at the hotel, I had a key issue and Alfredo and another agent at the counter who I do not remember his name right now, were very patient and helpful in rectifying the situation. On the day when I was to check out, I had an issue with my reservation and Adrian was very helpful in getting it sorted out. The meals were ok at the Luna Restaurant - I am used to something different but that is my preference. However, I had lunch on my final day at the Luna and Francisco was so pleasant and made sure I enjoyed my meal. The burger was excellent!!! I did not really get to enjoy much of the property because I was in training most of the times but from what I glimpsed, the outdoors and pool area were beautiful and the overall aesthetics of the hotel was excellent.

Staff was great but the hotel is dated. Looks like a Sovjet build hotel.

The best Hotel

Everyone treats me like a King. Love this Hotel!!! Great gym. Engel, Virgilio are exceptional. In the concierge’s lounge, Agatta, Ernesto and Lucas are the best!!!!!!!!!!! 2 thumbs up to the Jaragua. _______________________________

Staff was very nice, especially the team in the club. Ernesto and his coworker were super helpful and just nice. They definitely went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The hotel is nice but probably needs to be updated. Our first roomed smelled like it was actively smoked in, and the room we were moved to had that old stale smoke smell. Gross. Pool towels were sparse. We had to ask several times. We had a taxi arranged for an early morning excursion, but it never showed up, and we had to scramble to find an alternate mode of transportation in order to make it to our designated pick-up. Finally, we were supposed to get ice cream as a welcome gift. We were out when they tried to bring it to us. They called us later and said they were sending it. We waited a good 30 minutes, and it never came. We called them and said we were going to the pool, and they said they would send it there. It never showed up. We asked again about it the next day. They said they would send it right up, but again it never came. We finally gave up.
