Abelonas Retreat

Nice location, not crowed but close to the center. Great breakfast , would select that hotel again

The Abelonas Retreat is a very nice and well run hotel. The whole area is kept spotlessly clean. We had a maisonette style room with an amazing view. We were quite surprised by the openness of the upper floor which provided very little privacy between the two levels. We were told there were two bathrooms, when in fact it is just a toilet and sink upstairs. The stairs to the upper level were very difficult to navigate, even for our 24 year old daughter and the ceiling height was restrictive. The upstairs bed is a wooden pallet with a mattress, very low down! The downstairs bed was so comfortable, best we’ve ever had in Greece! The room was more old fashioned than depicted in the photos, but it is staff that make this hotel. They are absolutely fantastic and exceedingly helpful. The breakfast provided was satisfactory. We visited in April and the weather was rather inclement. It was exceedingly windy and the doors and windows were not exactly draft proofed, we did get a very wet floor one night when the rain came in. The steps up to the rooms are quite steep. The Abelonas is in a wonderful village and the hotel is very well positioned away from the crowds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Really good hotel part of a package. Great location for restaurants and views. Clean and tidy. Good variety of breakfasts available. Staff very pleasant courteous and helpful. Would recommend. Four seasons and Rare restaurants, locally situated very good. Also Aegean restaurant 10 minutes walk also recommended.

the best place for my stay in Santorini. From the moment you arrive they serve you like a queen. the super special service. Breakfast in the room, beautiful clean room. the spectacular view. the pool in a beautiful location to watch the sunset. The truth is that I would return whenever I went to Santorini. In love with this hotel and the people who work there. Beautiful facilities, super safe to walk alone or in a group.

We loved staying here in november 2023. Paul and Alex made us feel so welcome and we loved our daily chats. The location was quiet. The breakfast everyday served to you directly in the room was something we really looked forward to each morning! The only thing that would need improvement is the comfort of the bed. The hotel is located right along the hiking route to oia. If you have a chance, it is one of the best hikes ive ever done. Would be so thrilled to return to Santorini and stay here!
