Had a wonderful time in Oia staying at Elea Resort. Our room (11) was clean and comfortable with a furnished terrace and hot tub outside. The pool area was spotless with comfy sunbeds and small bar area. Service was spot on with all the staff so friendly, hard working and helpful with a special mention for Nic. We got a complimentary bottle of wine when we arrived which was a nice touch too. Breakfast was brought to our room terrace every day and was fresh and varied and really set us up for the day. It's a small, quiet complex and all the better for that. Location is peaceful, 10 mins walk away from the hustle and bustle Oia centre and with it's own view of the sunset. But as others have said watch out for the hill into town - it's a heck of a climb. Oia is stunning with quaint alleys and streets and jaw dropping views at every turn. Better to explore early and late though to avoid the cruise ship crowds, I would think it could be a bit manic in high season. Also be sure to book well ahead at restaurants if you want a particular time and/or table with a view. Fira is well worth a visit, with the half hourly bus service only €1.80 each way, and we also took a catamaran sunset cruise around the island which I would highly recommend. All in all a fabulous holiday.
