This is a small four unit building right in the heart of Fira. The unit is Cave House style which is great if you want to stay in a traditional Santorini abode. The units have fairly high arched ceilings and are brightly painted. It was cutely furnished. There is no property rep onsite like a hotel, but the property managers were promptly responsive to our every request. The cleaner and porter were wonderful. A few heads up: As these units are cave house style, they are mostly underground, so there are few windows and the air conditioning struggles to cool the bedrooms in the back. It also effects data and wifi, which only reliably works from the living room. The units are a 10 minute walk from the nearest road drop off point through narrow Fira passages , BUT, the property manager is excellent at ensuring a porter meets you to take your luggage to and from your taxi. To be clear, this issue is true of most hotels on the cliffs facing the caldera and is a function of the town’s layout (it is not an issue unique to Caldera Senses). The views and location are spectacular and there are 2 fabulous shared terraces. The were multitudes of people taking instagram pics right in front of our terrace, the location was that good, My only criticism is the top patio is in desperate need of some umbrellas! In all this unit was great value for the location and space you were getting, and I was happy with the service. You can get places with pools and a bit more luxury but they cost 200 - 300 Euro more per night. The property manager arranged seamless transportation and luggage hauling for us and even looked for a catamaran tour for us on request. I would give this place 4.5 out if 5 if I could. With better air conditioning, umbrellas and better wifi it would be a 5 given what we were paying.
