Iberostar Selection Lagos Algarve

We have been here a few days now and are very happy and relaxed. Hotel is lovely and calm the food is great and the and service is excellent. A personal mention must be given to Mario who has really looked after us in the restaurant and snack bar making us feel special. Also Raphael Juan & Tatiana. There are plenty of activities if you want them but nobody is hassling you to join in. Would definitely recommend for a relax and rewind holiday.

We love Lagos as a holiday resort and have been on many occasions. This was our first visit to the Iberostar Hotel. The location of the hotel is ideal for the Meia Praia beach and the lovely walks along the board walk. It is a 2 mile walk along the board walk in to the centre of Lagos. The hotel was lovely and clean and we found all the staff were extremely helpful. We were half board and paid the extra at the hotel to go all inclusive which is good value. The breakfast was buffet style and lots of choices. The evening meal was also buffet style but it was pretty chaotic at times with everyone trying to pick and choose their food. Sadly a lot of the food was either cold or tepid and needed to be warmer to eat. Our preference would have been to have a more formal sit down meal. In the hotel there were plenty of water machines to fill your water bottles. The two outdoor pools were lovely. We did not use the inner pool or gym. We would revisit the hotel but would only go bed and breakfast unless the evening meal options changed.

It was our first time at Iberostar Selection Lagos and we went with our son & daughter in law who had stayed there last year. The hotel was very impressive: super service from all staff, very comfortable and well-appointed rooms, close to the lovely sandy unspoilt beach, well tended grounds, clean swimming pools with plenty of loungers and new parasols. The kids club was excellent and the 2 girls who ran it were brilliant with the children, providing appropriate and fun entertainment for them. The buffet breakfasts were superb and the evening buffet had plentiful choice, something for everyone. All in all a very good value holiday.

The customer service at this hotel is top notch. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere upon entering is very relaxing and this is the perfect place for a weekend beach getaway. They have multiple swimming pools,including one indoors, and they have a great view of the beach and the ocean. 10/10 will stay again.

Lovely hotel, situated about 30-45 mins walk out of Lagos main town/marina area. Place is kept very clean and tidy, staff generally pleasant (especially Manuel, Uday). Fantastic view from the bar area out unto the sea, class. Breakfast - plenty of choice, loads of staff on duty, well organised. Chefs omelettes proved a very popular choice. Pool area nicely maintained with lots of sunbeds available. Nice touch at the hotel: welcome prosecco on arrival, water coolers on all floors, very handy for filling up your water bottle to take out with you if you're going for a dander or to bring into the room for a cold sip during the night. Rooms decent size, large double bed, good sized bathroom. (our tv didn't work for most of time we were there, which didn't overly bother us but some ppl might be a bit peeved by that) Bring mozzie spray, wee blurts were about looking for victims. Bus stop outside the hotel on the main rd at the bottom of the hill. Loads of taxi options available 5-8 euros to get into Lagos. Note for wheelchair users or ppl with reduced mobility - hotel had very good access around the grounds, rooms, reception, pool, restaurant and bar area. The hotel sits up a short, steep hill from the main road, however you can avoid most of the hill if you use the side entrance gate (see info below) Entertainment was few and far between, best we had was on the Saturday night when there was a duo on - Anna on vocals, Mario on guitar, they played a range of songs to the assembled audience. Anna has a great voice and excellent interaction with the crowd. 2 mins walk from the hotel (using the side gate which you access from level 0), you can get across unto a fabulous wooden walkway which opened in 2023. The walkway stretches for 5km and you end up just at the rear of the marina. (the walkway is especially good for wheelchair users with several bars/restaurants dotted along it)
