Perfect choice for meat and alcohol lovers. They've got the best grilled yakiniku meat for dinner, plenty of alcohol choices without service charge. Room is comfy enough, with onsen spacious enough.

Had a great time staying at the hotel. A good place to hike to the dam and there are a lot of good restaurants nearby as well. The price is decent and you could go bath in the onsen, would stay again and recommend people to go. ちょっとした旅行気分で行ってみたけど施設もあって、温泉もあって、近くに食べるところも色々あって楽しかったです。 また機会があったらもう一回泊まってみたい

The hot spring tax and sake lounge use are postpaid and you can pay when you check out. I had a great experience, having both dinner and breakfast.

The location is far away, and it will be difficult to get there if you are not traveling by car. The check-in time is late, and the portion of roasted meat in the evening is not enough. The room only provides a sink and toilet. You must go to the public hot spring bathhouse to bathe. After soaking in the bath, you can enjoy the sake served by the hotel to wash away the fatigue from the journey. Curry rice and miso soup are provided for breakfast, which is very delicious.

Jozankei Ryokan is mainly visited by local tourists. Maybe that's why we could mostly communicate in Japanese, but it was okay because there was a basic notice board in English. First of all, there is a shuttle bus in operation, so you can make a reservation by phone and wait at the indicated location near Odori Park and they will pick you up. The ryokan atmosphere is really nice and the hot spring is small, but there is also an outdoor open-air bath so you can enjoy the hot spring while looking at the snow. Not to mention the friendliness of the staff (👍👍👍), from the sake bar to the various snacks prepared in the lobby, this is a ryokan that I really want to visit again when I go to Jozankei!! p.s The check-out time is late and the shuttle bus service time is also late, around 12:30 PM. There is a bus stop 5 minutes away, but even though it is the 4th stop, it is full of tourists and carriers... It's a real hell bus... After using the ryokan, I recommend planning your itinerary leisurely the next day.
