Pugdundee Safari- Denwa Backwater Escape

I recently had the pleasure of revisiting Pugdundee Safari for the fourth time, and once again, it proved to be an enchanting experience that surpassed all expectations. A three-night, four-day stay in this wildlife heaven.. From the warm welcome at the reception to the seamless check-in process, the staff ensures that guests feel like cherished members of the Pugdundee family. From the -pumping jeep safaris to the serene boat safaris ***** the river, every outing was an opportunity to witness the incredible biodiversity that surrounds the property. The expert naturalist Mr Jaidev shared their wealth of knowledge, making each safari not just an adventure but also an educational experience. Exploring the jungle on two wheels with naturalist Mr Jaidev added a new dimension to my stay. Waking up to the sound of flowing water and being greeted by stunning sunrise and sunset views from the balcony added a touch of tranquility to the overall experience. Deers gracefully running through the resort. The chefs consistently outdo themselves with a diverse menu that celebrates local flavors . Each meal was a delightful exploration of taste, and the attentive staff ensured that every dining experience was a highlight of the day. The highlight of my visit was the exhilarating jeep safaris that took us deep into the heart of the jungle. Guided by knowledgeable naturalists, we embarked on an adventure that included sightings of tigers, bears, four-horned antelope, owls, and even crocodiles. The thrill of witnessing a tigress and her cubs enjoying a meal was a truly mesmerizing and rare experience that surpassed any safari expectations. I must express my deepest gratitude to the entire staff for their exceptional service. From the front desk to the kitchen and the dedicated naturalists, every member contributed to making this stay truly memorable. What a lovely property this is and such an amazing team! The warmth and politeness of the team enhanced the ambience tenfold and made my visit here truly memorable. The food was wonderful with a very different and unique selection of thalis and entrees. All in all I would like to thank Prashant, Kshitij and their wonderful team for making my stay a truly memorable one! Will be returning here for sure!

Having stayed at Pugdundee's Kanha property, and experienced their high standards, this one did not disappoint in the least. Ranks high on every aspect - service, cleanliness, food and the view from the river facing rooms is breathtaking! The staff is ever smiling and attentive. The meals are a curated selection of different regional foods and very tasty. The naturalists at the lodge are very knowledgeable, ready to answer even the most mundane of questions. All in all, this is the perfect place to commune with nature.

The environment was impeccable in hotel to feel like jungle. Staffs were very good in demeanor. Pabulum was astounding. The feel of jungle in resort was on mark. I don’t cerebrate you can find better place than this for your vacations in madai. You get umbrellas, you get torch, you get cycle and the best part the pool feel like it’s in the middle of jungle . If you like nature and optate to feel nature at your stay place as well this is the best place

We were a family of 6 that visited Satpura for the first time and we had a wonderful 5 day stay at Denwa Backwater Escape! The resort is located in a quiet and serene spot and has spacious cottages with full-length windows. The staff, especially from the restaurant is very courteous and cheerful. The food is delicious with a generous spread every day. Everything about the resort and it's surroundings is relaxed! A special mention to Kshitij, who manages the resort impeccably and is an awesome naturalist as well! He's very approachable and sincere, and pays close attention to the needs of the guests thereby making them very comfortable. Aman, another naturalist accompanied us on a couple of safaris and was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a pleasure to have them both on our safaris! Overall, my family and I had a lovely stay at Denwa Backwater Escape!

The resort is beautiful... it's location gives a lovely view of the backwaters and the jungle. The rooms and the room service were good. I loved the food...a great mixture of popular and local dishes ...desserts were yummy. Loved my stay...

Had the most wonderful stay at this incredible property in the heart of Satpura. Cosiest rooms with some incredible views. Exception service from a very polite and caring staff. Always assisting us to try and experience activities and everything unique that the forest has to offer. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely lodge in a lovely area. Cottage was large and very comfortable with a veranda facing the river. Food was delicious and plentiful. Very nice team of staff who looked after us. Lodge was close to the National Park, which is reached by jeep and boat.

Small upmarket resort that exceeds all expectations. Small so that it has very personal service. I had a cottage overlooking the Tawa reservoir, a large body of water which backs onto the tiger reserve. The cottage is large with a beautiful picture window looking over to the water & bush. There was a king size bed & the cottage is air-conditioned (although rather loud) plus a ceiling fan. There is seperate wifi in each cottage, a bit slow but adequate. There is a big on-suite with a walk in shower. The cottage had a roof top deck & a deck on the ground floor. There are only 8 cottages, two upmarket ten accommodation, plus 4 suites. There is a seperate building for dining. All my meals were included. All the food was delicious although too much. If you don’t want Indian food the chef will arrange a western meal. Safaris, both jeep & water, can be taken from here into the tiger reserve and well worth doing. The retreat also has a large swimming room. And it does get pretty hot during the day. Unfortunately during my stay there was a large noisy Indian family staying who were rude to the staff & other guests which spoilt it just a bit. Management did their best to sort it out. The staff are superb & go out of their way to be helpful and friendly & get to know your likes & dislikes. You need at least two nights here, preferably more, to enjoy this very special place.
