Lido Beach Resort - Sarasota

Amazing!!!! Lots of shoutouts…. First to Franchi aka Frenchie at Front Desk. Efficient, so pleasant and helpful. She runs the front desk like a true professional. Second, Tom, Rafael and beach staff. They took extra care of me, friends and family. They work extremely hard from dawn to dusk and are still smiling at the end of the day. The Tiki bar staff is awesome and Michael the Chef from Drift went out his way to spend time with us. Food at Tiki, Marketplace and Drift absolutely amazing. My Tiki Tower beachfront suite was perfect. The view was breathtaking, the bed very comfy and the room was spotless. I will be back and hope to stay longer!!!

The resort as a whole is cute and Lido beach is beautiful, but it’s very tough to refit these old buildings and for the amount of money, the rooms are pretty average.

We stayed in the Tiki Tower on the 4th floor. Beautiful view of the beach from our door. The main issue we had was that we lost water for a good 3 hours on one of the days. I received a text that said water would be off for 20-30 minutes which then became 3 hours without any updates in between or even an offer of a drink ticket or something to make up for the inconvenience. The hotel room was nice & we loved getting waters everyday in addition to the nice drink upon checkin. There were also plenty of charging areas in the room by the beds. Having a full sized fridge and a dishwasher in the room was nice, but we felt they were not necessary. We wished the bathoom would've been bigger as it was very tight and the door won't close if there's a bath mat on the floor. Some towel hooks on the back of the door would have been nice as there's nowhere to hang your towel for when you exit the shower. We sat at the pool the first day and it was nice. However, the next 2 days (but not the last day!) there were black bugs which swarmed all around us. I asked for assistance, but there was nothing the attendants could do about it so we went to the beach & were given a drink ticket for the issue which was nice. We were not told that there was a charge for umbrellas until the next day so that was annoying that the attendant who helped us failed to mention that there was a $15 cost per umbrella even though some people just took seats that were already setup & didn’t have to pay anything. We went to Drift twice. Dinner was outstanding. Food & service were wonderful. Breakfast was a huge fail. We waited about 20 minutes even though the restaurant looked empty. Then we waited another 20 minutes to put our orders in and then another 25-30 minutes for our food. Our waitress was very inattentive. We saw a couple at another table stand up and say they needed to take theirs to go because they had to catch their flight. At first, we thought that was weird, but then after spending 1.5 hours there, we then understood that they must've been waiting for too long like us and had to leave. The weather was great so that made the trip worth it. We loved having an adult pool! It was nice having the option to take the shuttle to St. Armand’s, but the last morning we had to wait as it was not ready at 8am. The woman driver did not seem concerned that we had been waiting. Most of the time we just walked there, which I’d recommended unless it gets too hot.

Our 3rd visit to the LBR. Returned this time to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Palm tower beachfront king studio suite. Resort: everything is spotless and clean. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Right on the beach. Beach chairs free but pay for umbrella. One of few places that you actually get some value for the resort fee. A+ Room: Again very clean. Room service and maintenance exceptional. Nicely decorated. Comfortable bed and furniture. Large beachfront patio. Excellent shower. Only thing not up to par are the very limited utensils and cookware in Kitchen. A+ Drift restaurant: ate breakfast there twice passable and expensive but not very good. C- Beach. Service great and chairs very comfortable. Pay for umbrellas. Plenty chairs available. A Beach itself. Where oh where has the white powdery sand gone. There was a beach replenishment at the Lido beaches and to save money they used the worst sand I have ever seen. It is nothing but crushed sea shells. Very uncomfortable to walk on. Nothing like it used to be. F We returned to LBR for many reasons one of which when we came here for a previous anniversary they were so kind giving us a small bottle of champagne and box choc covered strawberries as well as acknowledging it at check in. Dont know if new policy but this time no recognition at all. Not a big deal but one of things that separates one resort from another.

This resort is beautiful and employs a great deal of kind employees. Our room was upgraded at check in to the 14th floor - there was a stunning view of the beach with two deck chairs on the balcony. The room itself was beautiful and housekeeping did a remarkable job keeping it that way. The beach is the spotlight of this resort with two pools )one for adults only!) and many beach chairs available. It's located right next to the public beach which was observed to be packed to the gills!

The Lido Resort was one of the best places we have stayed. It had everything we wanted on this vacation. Great Breakfast place on the 8th floor with a view. Outstanding Tiki bar by the pool and beach. Great beach with lounge chairs and umbrellas. A 5 minute trip to St Armands Circle which has many restaurants and shops. I liked the fact that airport is only 30 minutes away from the hotel. We are booing again for '25 Spring break.

From the moment we checked in, this resort has gone above and beyond for my family. We have an eight month old and they have treated him like a king. From extra towels to crib mattresses to washcloths for his bath, they have made our stay so enjoyable. All of the staff are so welcoming! Make sure to eat at Drift! Breakfasts and dinners are phenomenal! The shuttle service to St Armand’s Circle is so nice too!!! We can’t wait to come back for future family vacations!
