The accommodation and food were wonderful, but above all, the hospitality of the inn staff was heartwarming.

The only disappointment was that they offered a traditional kaiseki meal for dinner instead of the creative Western-style meal. 鹿児島県北薩エリアで評判の良い宿ということで、4月25日(土)から1泊、野天風呂付の洋室103号室に滞在した。 全体的な印象として、悪くはないが、特段わさわさ泊まりに行くほどの宿ではないといったところ。 それなりに雰囲気を重視して、さまざまな工夫は感じられるが、どれも中途半端で、高級指向の方には向かない。 まず客室、室内の雰囲気は悪くはないが、雰囲気を重視するあまり、室内が暗く、フロアスタンドをもう1台借りた。 客室付きの野天風呂は、別棟になっていて、竹林を見ながら源泉かけ流しの温泉を楽しめ、気持ちが良かったが、ここの脱衣所がまた暗いし、アメニティま馬油シャンプー等を使っていて、このランクの宿にしてはチープ。 宿泊者用のラウンジが設けられていて、ここも雰囲気は良いが、夜間のアルコールフリーの時間には、窓側の席をおじさん二人が独占し、居酒屋のような振る舞いに辟易した。 大浴場は、思っていたよりも小さく、サウナもないので、客室に風呂があるなら、わさわさ行くほどではない。露天風呂は、申し訳程度に設けられていて、とてもぬるく、長湯はできない。 食事は朝夕ともに個室でいただいたが、夕食はメニューのバランスが悪く、特に洋皿は外した方がよいレベル。ただ牛しゃぶはおいしかったし、ボリューム的には満足できた。朝食は、奄美の名物"鶏飯"がウリのようで、おいしかったが、あとはごく普通。スタッフも地元大学生のアルバイトで、コミュニケーション能力は低い。 全体的に、値段を考えると、こんなものかとは思うが、わさわさここの宿泊を目的として、福岡から車で行く価値はないと感じた。
