Stayed here Friday and Saturday nights. Checked in and received two complementary bottles of water. Went into our room and the first thing I noticed was that the hardwood floor was dirty and obviously hadn’t been swept or vacuumed, and that there is no refrigerator in the room. So the water they gave us, along with the water and sodas I brought for our stay would remain warm for the weekend. I inquired about the valet parking, which I was paying $39 a day for, to find out the rules for coming and going. I learned that the valets get off at 11 PM, and there is no security for the parked vehicles. And there is NO SELF PARKING! So if you go out, and return to the hotel after 11 PM, you’re on your own to find someplace to park off the property! Went up to the ‘Top Deck’, the rooftop bar overlooking the river, for a cold beer. The bar was closed all day and all Friday night for a private event. So the wife and I took a walk along the river, went to dinner and went to a bar along River Street. I needed to go into our room briefly, but found that my key card that’s needed to open the hotel’s rear door facing River Street, would not open the door. Now, because this hotel is built on the sloap leading to the river, the front entrance at street level is actually the 4th floor of the hotel. So, I had to climb the cobblestone and uneven brick stairs from River Street to the front entrance. I’m 70 years old and for me that was a climb! I informed the girl at the front desk about my key card not working and she stated “Oh, that door’s card reader doesn’t work”. I told her that my wife and I will be returning to the hotel later, and she’s 67 years old and recently had knee replacement surgery and I’m sure she wouldn’t be able to climb those stairs, so I guess we’d have to call a taxi to bring us back. She said “Here’s the number to the hotel, just give me a call and I’ll come down and open the door for you”. At 2AM, my wife and I arrived at the rear entrance and I called the number the desk clerk had given me. Got a recording that the number is not in service. She gave me a wrong number, off the top of her head, instead of giving me one of the hotel business cards that’s readily available. So my wife and I had to climb those four stories worth of stairs to get to the front entrance. My wife was exhausted and in pain. The clerk confirmed that she gave me the wrong number by mistake. Not even an apology. The next evening, we were headed up to their rooftop bar, only to find it was already last call as they were closing at 6PM for another private event. Had dinner reservations for 9:30 at the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel. At 10 PM, we were informed that there had been a small fire in the kitchen, and the fire extinguishing chemicals had contaminated everything in the kitchen. They couldn’t feed us. So, we had to find a restaurant that was able to seat us at that late hour. My bill for the two nights, including the room, all sorts
