I stayed here six nights for Adepticon and had about the best experience you can have for an off-site convention hotel! The staff were all very knowledgeable and friendly, and the rooms are all very spacious. We were much more comfortable here for an extended stay than we would have been in a standard hotel room. The modernization they did a few years ago looks great, everything in my room felt very clean and well maintained. There were plenty of outlets (both 12v and USB) for all of my devices, and the shower is roomy enough for two people to use at once. The free internet was fast enough to stream Netflix on my laptop which is great. There was an issue with the cable signal in our room but they fixed it the next day, so no issues there. We stayed on the 4th floor, the elevators were a little slow but not unreasonably so. I think it’s an older building and I imagine that it is harder to modernize elevator shafts. The digital keycard on my phone was a cool feature and actually became my primary way of entering my room. Very consistent and reliable. The free breakfast paid for itself many times over! It was just as good as the quality you’d get at a place like IHOP or Denny’s imo. I also really appreciated the menu variety so that we didn’t have to eat the same stuff every morning. Between that and the free happy hour evening drinks and snacks, I feel like I saved close to $200 on food costs over the course of my stay. The convenience store is small but has a decent selection of drinks and snacks, though it would be nice to see a wider variety of microwaveable meals in stock. Honestly the only thing that makes me waver on staying here next year was the fact that they didn’t have shuttles running to the convention center. It’s only a five minute walk but lugging around all of my con stuff when it’s cold or rainy outside wasn’t fun. The walking paths also aren’t well lit so walking back alone at night was a little nerve wracking as a solo female. If they can get a shuttle service to the convention center running next year I don’t think I’d ever feel the need to stay anywhere else!
