Last weekend we were with 3 families and stayed for 2 nights at the Thüringer Hof in Struth-Helmershof. Everything was perfect, the hotel is beautifully furnished, the rooms are modern and comfortable at the same time, some of them had a balcony. The hotel has very good food, we had a delicious dinner and the breakfast buffet is top class! We would especially like to thank the Kirschner family and the entire hotel team - you don't get such service very often these days! We can absolutely recommend the Thüringer Hof, and will definitely come back ourselves - the Thuringian Forest is always worth a trip.

We stayed at the Hotel Thüringer Hof during our hike on the nearby Rennsteig and can highly recommend the hotel.
The hotel and the rooms are very nice and comfortable, everything is excellently maintained and the bathrooms are of high quality and modern. The newly designed breakfast room is a feast for the eyes and it is a pleasure to start the day there.
The kitchen is also highly recommended. Both our dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast were impressive in terms of taste, quality and price.
I would particularly like to highlight the friendliness of the team. The owner and his team are very good hosts and you feel very comfortable in the Thüringer Hof thanks to their authentic warmth.
In short: we would be happy to come back any time!

+ Good location, + appealing first impression on arrival + first-class cuisine, you have to look for it for a long time - really outstanding + small but very fine breakfast buffet in a really nice setting + attentive service - unfortunately the room facing the street was very noisy, we had booked the middle category, it looked different to the photos. - We didn't like the dining room where dinner was served for the overnight guests, we felt like we were sitting at the regulars' table right next to the bar - a note that the Sky connection advertised everywhere doesn't work would have been nice.

Both the breakfast room and the guest room have been very tastefully renovated in recent years. We had a large balcony room with a new bathroom. The hotel room was not newly renovated, but very well maintained and clean. Sufficient parking spaces at the hotel.

The kitchen offers a large selection of very good dishes, including vegetarian and vegan. You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into this. The room is comfortably and cleanly furnished. Despite the wedding in the hall, there was no noise pollution in the room (30 m away). Our room was large and very tastefully decorated, with a view of the greenery and the mountains in the background. It had just snowed so the holiday atmosphere was perfect. The mattresses were a little too soft for me but that's a matter of taste. The breakfast was excellent and the service, as everywhere in this family-run hotel, was extremely courteous. The evening meal offered a wide range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. A Thuringian speciality tasted particularly good, it's called Schäufele and I have rarely eaten such tender pork. Of course, the delicious Thuringian dumplings were served as a side dish.
