Only negative was a mattress on the bed which lacked sufficient support on one edge in particular, and my partner, normally an excellent sleeper, didn’t find her sleep that good the night we stayed. Shame that breakfast wasn’t automatically included in the price paid as that usually leads to better value overall and saw us instead wander out and purchase elsewhere instead. This was oh so easy given the extensive choice on offer here in the town.

Perfectly okay but disappointing for the price. Tea/coffee-making supplies very basic; a fridge was mentioned by ******* so I'd hoped for fresh milk but there was no fridge and only longlife milk. The oldest and clunkiest TV/cable box combo I've seen for a while, though it did work once you got the hang of the remote controls. There was a sea view, but quite limited between the houses. Lovely old building with period features, a convenient location for the station, town centre and seafront, comfy bed and very little traffic noise. Seaford seems to be a thriving town even off season. I didn't have any meals so can't comment on those.

Stopped in for some food and drinks. Food was lovely and plentiful. Can't thank the team enough for their friendly welcome and accommodating our son who has SEN. It makes a massive difference to families like ours and is hugely appreciated.

The Wellington at Seaford is one of the friendliest, most welcoming places we have stayed and is amazing value for money. The owners, Simon and Nina, are a lovely couple and have clearly put heart and soul (and money!) into upgrading the facilities since they took ownership, which I gather unfortunately coincided with the outbreak of Covid. The welcome on arrival could not have been warmer and we were shown to our room by Nina, one of the owners. The spacious room was immaculately clean and the bed was super comfortable and mercifully squeak-free, in both respects unlike the P**mier Inn at Newhaven where we made the mistake of staying on the inward leg of our trip to the UK from France. Our room, just like the entire inn, has been newly double glazed with stylish sash windows, so there was virtually no noise at all from what light traffic that passed by outside and we enjoyed our first night of unbroken sleep in several days. The room was equipped with a large TV (Freeview), tea and coffee facilities and WiFi. Downstairs the pub and restaurant are equally welcoming and cosy, and after a very pleasant, bracing walk along the seafront (the promenade is just a couple of minutes down the road from The Wellington) we ate an early evening meal which was prepared by Simon, Nina's husband. The menu was excellent, with something for all tastes and plenty of vegetarian options, though we plumped for real sausage and mash! A properly tasty, delicious treat, washed down with a chilled bottle of Pinot Grigio and followed by a scrumptious chocolate fudge cake. We had breakfast in the restaurant next morning - full English for him and continental for her - which was prepared and served by Simon. This was without a doubt the best English breakfast I can ever remember, and it knocked the offering that we previously had at the Newhaven inn into a cocked hat; it was not some tepid, serve yourself buffet, but the real deal, generous and freshly prepared to order. And it costs less, too! There is free on-street parking outside the Wellington - arriving late afternoon on the Tuesday we were able to park just a few yards from the main entrance. After breakfast on Wednesday we packed our bags, made our farewells and had a short, ten-minute drive to Newhaven ferry terminal for our crossing back home to France. In short, we thoroughly recommend The Wellington to anyone staying in the area, whether for a stay or for a meal. If they'll have us, we'll definitely book again if we use the same ferry crossing in future.

This is our first trip to England and we are spending most of our 17 days in London, but we booked the Wellington so we could hike the Seven Sisters and get a feel for a smaller English town. If we had it to do over, we would have stayed a few more days here. Simon and Nina are the most pleasant and helpful hosts. Their service, food, and ale selections were all outstanding, and we enjoyed a pleasant and peaceful nights sleep. Simon saved us money by telling us about the bus service to the Seven Sisters Park - we had just planned to call a taxi. We really enjoyed the slower pace of this seaside town as well. And the hiking along the coast is just spectacular. The room was neat and more spacious than the other hotels we have used so far, and a very short walk from the beach and train station. It had its own bathroom with shower, body wash and shampoo, electric kettle with tea and coffee, and 2 bottled waters. Highly recommend.
