The Seaton Lane Inn - the Inn Collection Group

Ordered evening meal, Cumberland sausage with mash and onion rings. (3 components to the whole meal) Arrived at the table minus the onion rings but possibly by ways of some kind of compensation the hugest pile of tasteless dried up mash you have ever seen.. I asked where the onion rings were..."we don't have any" No apology.... suppose it must be acceptable here. Why would you take the order knowing this? If they didn't know at the time of order, surely the chef/cook did. Why didn't anyone think to tell me...the customer. OH YES, still expected to pay the full price!!

Lovely hotel, super clean and very friendly. Rooms are very comfortable but some Road noise but that can’t be helped. My meal was disappointing but my wife was very happy with hers so I guess I was unlucky. Overall a lovely hotel and looking forward to returning

A sunny Seaham day but dismal Inn Collection meal May 2024 So disappointed with Inn Collection lunch today. Yes, it was Bank Holiday Monday and obviously busy, understaffed, too, given the dining space. Perhaps the regular chef was not working. We arrived just before 2pm. But there is no excuse for what we were eventually presented with. My sister ordered ham and pease pudding stottie. Instead of ham there was a white meat which, after sending it back, she was told there was no ham so they had substituted turkey. Waiter suggested that they could remove the pease pudding and put gravy in its place. Not wishing to create a fuss she accepted the substituted turkey, which after tasting was actually pork. Incredible! Why did staff not let us know they couldn’t fulfil order after an especially after a 35 minute wait? Is that usual Inn collection restaurant service? My tabbouleh lacked four promised ingredients so ended up dry and bland. Surely if ingredients weren’t available someone would inform us? Again, is that usual for Inn collection? Even more ironic is that my sister and husband had just returned from two nights at your sister hotel at Ripon where they were delighted with service and quality of food. And they are off to your other hotel in Glenridding next month. I wanted to eat here to ensure a quality meal for my walking group next month but am anxious about restaurant service now. Great place to stay Staff brilliant

A great wee hotel a real gem clean and room and bed fantastic really comfortable Breakfast really great choices and plenty off it Staff really friendly and extremely helpful

All the staff were very helpful. The public bar and orangery are comfy and welcoming. Evening meal choice and portion size was very good. Unfortunately contrary to advice given by IHG main office there are no luggage storage facilities for guests arriving before check in. We had arrived early by public transport. Fortunately a very kind member of staff agreed to keep them behind the bar so we could go off and explore. Luckily we had no valuables to worry about but this could have been avoided if we'd been given the correct information when I rang. This was not the fault of The Seaton Lane Inn

We are 3 old men on bicycles. We booked a family room and it worked out just fine. The food and drink were excellent. The booking system is not directly with the hotel. Those making the booking do NOT know what facilities there are for securely storing bicycles. There are NONE! However, we must praise Katie who managed to use her ingenuity and we managed to do this with the addition of charging our e bike batteries at the same time. So, booking system folk, listen to Katie, she has told you before!

The title says it all. We had two rooms, one double and one twin, which was very cramped. Neither room had much storage space and the bathrooms had no shelves whatsoever to place toiletries on. We found the menu for dinner to be ok, but of three main courses requested two were unavailable and a side of vegetable. ordered was not brought out. The breakfast was sparse and not very warm, and where in the other hotels there was usually a fresh fruit salad here there was a bowl of whole pears and apples.

A few days away on the North East coast with my daughter. This was the perfect place to stay. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The food is good and the bar areas friendly and comfortable. Our room was perfect for our needs, very clean with private bathroom, hairdryer, tv and tea and coffee making facilities (even an iron and board if you needed one). Easy access after hours and plenty of free parking. It's location means you can easily access both Newcastle driving or on the train. The station carpark is small but free! Durham is a short drive away and Seaham hall beach a few minutes away in the car, where you can find the famous sea glass. We would definitely stay here again.
