Never Again!!! I booked last minute calling on a Wednesday asking if there was any availability for tomorrow (Thursday), they said yes, room 21 was available. We get there on Thursday, they let us check in early at 2:00pm, the room was beautiful and for a greater rate! Jacuzzi tub, private patio, secluded from the main road, closer to the creek. So we drop off our stuff after a long hike and make our way to Sedona (about at 20min drive). We get there and are parked at the restaurant when I get a call. “We need the keys back, we accidently checked you in, you’re booked for tomorrow, another family has room 21.” WHAT!!! The woman at the front desk spent 10 min on the phone with me saying she thought I said Friday, and when I checked in she thought I said a different name. Didn’t apologize once and didn’t offer me another room, they were at full capacity. Well, when I checked in she never checked ID, and she blamed the child who was running around the front office/behind the desk trying to pass out keys on why there was a mistake. Again, no apology or responsibility taken on their part. When we get back, we have to take our belongings out of the room, and return the keys. There is a man there who makes a phone call and says he can get us into a comprobable room, room #5 (which was supposed to be DNR, which I can only assume means “do not reserve.” This one still has a jacuzzi and fire place but no private patio, so in my eyes a downgrade. We had to wait while they cleaned it so we left. We finally go to lunch and spend a few hours in town and head back, exhausted. We park and are getting our things out of my truck, ready to go into room 5 (which he gave us a key to) and he pops out of the office and tells us “we have another change, someone was already in room 5, you guys will be in room 3. There was some shotty book keeping while I was gone and I tried to call you but our phones weren’t working.” Well ok, at this point 3 hours away from home at 6:30 pm what are we going to to?? This room sucks. No jacuzzi, no fireplace, paint chipping across the wall, huge bug crawling across the bathroom floor, and right next to the office, so we directly next to the main road. Norman Bates could have put us in a better room. I hope we are compensated appropriately, but I doubt that will happen. This has been an awful experience. Two thumbs down, definitely not a romantic trip to the woods anymore.
