My Husband and I have just spent 2 nights at Hotel Candido on a B&B basis, we flew in to Madrid airport on Saturday evening from Australia so wanted somewhere to recoup after travelling before driving back to southern Spain. The hotel, food and staff are nice but not somewhere we would return to in the future. Segovia is OK but again not somewhere we will return. One thing I feel I need to mention is regarding the indoor swimming pool at the hotel which is located in the Spa, we asked at reception if we could use the indoor pool as the weather was inclement during our stay, the receptionist informed us that our booking did not include use of the indoor pool, this was surprising and strange to us as every other hotel we have stayed anywhere in the world has allowed guests to use the indoor pool if they have one regardless of their booking or room choice, also the receptionist said twice during our enquiry that the Spa closed at 3pm (on Sunday) it was 12 noon so that was irrelevant we only wanted to use the pool. In my opinion hotel guests should have access to the indoor pool during their stay. I have given the hotel 3 stars, it would have been 4 if the indoor pool rules were changed in favour of guests. The hotel rooms are quite large but some fixtures and fittings are looking old and worn.
