Needed a one night stay in this area on our way back from the eastern side of the Island. Hotel Selfoss sold out right in front of me, so we needed another option. This guesthouse was available with a 2 bedded room with private bathroom (sorry--not sharing a bathroom!). Made the reservation and received confirmation for a check-in just a few hours later. Now I have never stayed in an accommodation such as this so I was a bit uncertain how things would be. I had also read reviews that said you will hear noise from the rooms around you. Found it easily and drove up. You are asked to remove your shoes at the door and use a pair of their plastic-like shoes while in the house. When we were led downstairs, I was a bit nervous because downstairs is usually cold. Settled into our room. Everything seemed very clean and the bathroom looked relatively new. Everyone was quiet a little after 11pm and we slept well here. In the morning (not super early) we could hear others a bit. Our room was next to the only other one with the private bathroom so we were a bit away from the other rooms and their bathroom. A light in the room had a USB port. Don't put things in the window--I folded a top and left it there overnight and the condensation on the window made it wet. oops. The breakfast was very good--it was a continental-style breakfast. Cereals, yogurt, breads, cheese, some meats. Coffee and tea. No hot options other than toasting your bread. We found it satisfying. Enjoyed our stay here and the location was perfect for our trek back to the western side of Iceland.
