Disadvantages: The hotel room and floors are very dusty and not cleaned well. The soundproofing of the room was not good, and other tenants could hear clearly when they were talking in the corridor. Although the hotel is advertised as a five-star hotel, the breakfast is actually not as good as the guest house and three-star hotels we stayed in during this trip in terms of bread, yogurt, etc.
Pros: Breakfast included, big bathtub. The room is American country style and the size is okay.
When I checked out, there was an error that other guests charged more than 40,000 local currency for dinner in my room number. Fortunately, another service staff immediately said not to worry about it.

This place was awesome! Super clean and the staff were so very nice! The rooms had robes and slippers included so that was a bonus - especially with the snow outside! When we arrived to checkin, we were told the receptionist had just stepped away for a few, so the bartender (at the connecting restaurant) invited us to have a complimentary drink at the lounge area by the bar. So nice! And it was only a 2 min wait!! I had a lovely time here - also dined at the connecting restaurant and the food was amazing! Breakfast was also included so great deal! Would definitely recommend!!

It was wonderful for staying in Hotel Grimsborgir. The service was 10 of 10! We had a dinner and our waitress Dorijan did an amazing job. He was kind, polite and friendly. The room was clean, hot tubs were just next to our room which is very nice. We highly recommend Hotel Grimsborgir!

The property is beautiful, the staff were very accommodating, and we loved our stay. The room was the highlight, big cozy bed with plenty of pillows, large, awesome tv, large bathroom with heated floors, and great shower. Negatives are just nitpicks: our hot tub didn’t work so we had to change rooms, food at the restaurant was just ok, and the locks on the room were unnecessarily difficult. Loved it and would definitely return.

We stayed in the 4 bedroom lodge. Was very big and spacious. We had our own hot tub . Great for families and only 15 minutes drive from the local town of Selfoss. Staff really polite and friendly - nothing was too much. Food was also good

Beautifully simple and comfortable. Restaurant served the best mushroom soup I have ever eaten! Breakfast buffet was very fresh and beautifully presented. Love the bread!!! Staff were very pleasant. Very quiet and did not feel at all crowded despite a number of other guests.

We stayed two nights at Grimsborgir while visiting sights on the Golden Circle. The hotel rooms are great and the hot tubs at the end of the hallway were a bonus. The restaurant served a hearty breakfast with a variety of hold and cold foods. The dinner menu was well done and food was delicious. They even have the Aurora wake-up call service and it was exciting to receive the call one of the nights. The hallways are well heated, and I wish there was better temperature controls for the rooms. I had to pry open the window when it got too hot at night.

We had a good stay, the staff were great, and the rooms modern, clean and comfortable. We felt a bit misled by the descriptions as we booked a more expensive 'Deluxe Double' room. Their Standard and Superior rooms state they have access to 'Hot tubs in a shared common area', wheras for Deluxe rooms 'This double room's standout features are the hot tub and spa bath'. But Deluxe rooms also have thier hotub in a shared common area (in our building, shared between 5 rooms on a shared, communal terrace). We had paid for a deluxe double thinking we'd have a private hot tub - a bit misleading. Otherwise our stay was good.
