The Somerset Arms

We arrived and asked if we could stay overnight in our motorhome if we had a meal . No problem . We ignored some previously poor reviews as we were told there had been changes to the good by a local . We were pleased with an excellent meal at very reasonable prices. Polite and efficient staff . Well done to all and we will be back next time when we are in area . Will be recommending to others .

Excellent roast dinner. Large portions. Homemade fab yorkshires. Proper pub food. Highly recommend. Great desserts. We had crumble and Eton mess. Very good value. If you are passing Semington it is well worth a trip - there were plenty of other people enjoying lunch. I heard someone say it was a new chef 👍 great job your food is delicious

Well I would say it is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. But my wife and myself walked out and left the key in the room. The toilet was the dirtiest I’ve ever seen there was black mold on the walls. I think this room had not been let out for quite some time but had not been checked before letting it out to us. There was water still in the kettle. How long had that been there. Maybe before lockdown. I was not expecting much as we booked with a voucher but it was discusting. Now I know the answer back from the owners will be you never came down to the bar and complained but when a room is that bad I don’t think anything could have been done to persuade us to stay. If the room was clean we would have stayed I hope to think they never checked it before letting it out. Definitely will never go back.

Took a brief detour off the Kennet and Avon canal for lunch. Nice friendly pub, full menu or lunch menu available. We opted for sandwiches which were delicious and very reasonably priced. The barmaid was a real gem of a character, very amusing. Would definitely visit again, perhaps for a main meal.

You want the best lines of coke and smoke in Wiltshire. This is the place to go! Landlord is a proper perv but it’s funny cos he’s got no personality at all. Staff are great but cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Pretty sure I saw a few rodents too. Staff were great and like I say partied hard! Never been so buzzing

We booked a table at short notice and were welcomed into the restaurant by the lovely and friendly staff! Food was delicious! We had fish, burger and cottage pie… all gorgeous and freshly made! Coming from Liverpool, with our daughter starting Bath Uni soon… we will be back!!
