Starhostel Dongdaemun Suite

The location is great. Dongdaemun and Gwangjang Market are just a short walk away, so you won't have any trouble finding food! The station is also just a short walk away, so it was no problem to go out to various places. The room is very simple, but it's enough for sleeping! It's a common thing in Korea, but the toilet gets wet after a shower, so it's a bit of a hassle to have to evacuate as much as possible. I never went to eat the free breakfast, but there was a microwave and water server in the basement that I could use freely, so I was able to enjoy a midnight snack during my stay! There was one staff member who was very good at Japanese, so if you have any problems, I recommend asking him. (The other staff members also tried hard to communicate in Papago, so I had a good impression of them!)

The boss is very enthusiastic, the breakfast is good, and he helped us carry our luggage upstairs. The only inconvenience is that there is no elevator. The location is very good. You can walk to the subway station when you walk out. The Gwangjang Market is at the intersection. You can also go shopping in Dongdaemun in the evening. The gate is very close, there is a CU at the entrance of the alley where you can buy things, and the restaurant is available 24 hours a day in the basement.

My friend and I stayed for 3 nights at the end of March. It was enough for us as we were planning to just stay overnight and bring things with us. ○Location It was clean for the price, and it was 1-2 minutes from the station, which was great. It's in an alley, and it looks like a love hotel or red-light district, and only men go there at night, so it's a little scary. The concrete pavement in the alley is a little rickety, making it a little difficult to carry a carry-on case. ◯Staff There was no elevator, so we had to go up the stairs, but the staff helped us with loading and unloading our luggage. It was nice and friendly. He seemed to be able to speak a little Japanese, so we had no trouble communicating. ◯Check-in The staff were at the hotel until 22:00, but after that they seemed to hand out the keys to the front desk. We checked in early, but it may be possible to check in after 22:00. Please confirm at the time of reservation. ◯Amenities Wifi Towels (bath towels/face towels) →If you are staying for several nights, there is a new one on the shelf in the hallway, so you can take it yourself. There are used towel racks and trash cans in the hallway. Thanks to this, the bed was warm from below, so I was able to spend time without air conditioning. In fact, it was a little hot. ◯Equipment The room is not large, but you can spread out two 158cm size carry cases on the floor. The double bed was a comfortable size for two women. The shower, toilet, and sink are all in one room, and the toilet gets soaked when you take a shower, but it was dry by the next morning. There was a bit of a smell in the hallway, but it was fine in the room. The hotel entrance will be locked after 22:00, but we were informed in advance that it could be opened using the magnet attached to the room key.

It wasn't bad for the price, but it was too narrow. The bunk bed was difficult to use, and the surroundings of the hotel were so bad that it felt embarrassing to foreigners. The staff were friendly.

I used it on a men's trip to Seoul. It is in a very accessible location, less than a 2-minute walk from Jongno 5ga Station, and within walking distance from Dongdaemun Market and Gwangjang Market. The room was clean and I had a comfortable stay.
