Hotels in Sinchon/Hongdae, Seoul

Excellent value compared to international chains. Conveniently located with close and easy access to a few lines of Seoul Metro. If you take the train from the airport to the district (Hongik University stop), it's just a short walking distance of about 10 mins (like 95% covered!). The room is neat, spacious for one person or good enough for a couple. The complimentary drinks and snacks are a pleasant welcome surprise. I hoped for a more elaborate gym but I can understand the cost restraint; the gym ”as is” is functional and acceptable. The only thing which I hope the hotel can seriously consider is to include some drawers for placing clothes, especially those used. There is none in my room except a drawer in each of the two bedside tables, which are small and not for that purpose. I think the space under the clothes valet rod can accommodate one or two simple functional drawers. I highly recommend this hotel and shall return or try its sister hotels in other Seoul districts.

This is my 2nd time to stay with Mercure Hongdae~ 🥳 Here’s my review this time: Location: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - Just nearby Hongdae station exit 8 - Convenient store just opposite to the entrance - Olive Young, Clothing Stores, Restaurants only need to walk for with in 5-10 mins Service: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - My sibling & i arrive at around 2pm (check-in time 3pm), staff gave us a gesture to check in first which we didn’t ask for it Price: ❤️❤️❤️❤️ - The hotel was quite popular so that the price vary to the travel season - In general i think the price is worth it (nice service, excellent location, reasonable price)

I had 2 separate but consecutive days bookings but I didn’t managed to stay in the same room throughout which means I had to check out and check in again. Other than this, I think the overall services are excellent. The staff at the check in and concierge are all very proficient in English so asking for help was a breeze. My fav part is scanning the room key card in the lift without having to press the level.

Stayed with my child. I've previously stayed at hotels of this brand many years ago and always found the overall environment pleasant and the breakfast quite good. This location is convenient for dining and shopping local brands (especially cosmetics), with fried chicken and BBQ places easily accessible on foot. However, this time, the hotel felt quite out of the way for our itinerary, resulting in a less satisfying overall experience and poor value for money.

The staff is helpful and good English for communication. Solo travelling is good to meet other tourists in the common area. Good hot shower and beddy. The Aircon is not really working, the whole night room temperature is in 26degree ...

Hotel room very clean and tidy, room’s big enough and reception staff as well as housekeeper’s service good too. Location very convenience. As supermarket, convenience store and Olive Young cosmetic shop right next to the hotel, and bus station & metro station just a few mins walk. Only the shower curtain is a bit dirty and sticky, it would be better if the housekeeper can clean it or change for a bigger one, otherwise everything was good.

The overall stay was okay as the room was decent. However, 4 star hotel but need to pay for toothbrush and no shaver. Need to pay ridiculous amount for each hour early check in, no flexibility whatsoever. There’s no shower facilities for guest that reach early or want to shower after check out. Also hotel is really not close to the subway exit it’s like a 10 mins walk. With luggages quite long.

It was totally nice hotel especially instruments, services and location. If the water pressure more increase in the shower, and if there are no room fragrances, that would be most appreciated for me. Receptionists are really considerate, flexible and knowledgeable.  Thanks for their helps, my solo travel was made more efficient!

Hotel includes breakfast which is plenty of choices such as cereals, scrambled eggs, toast, kimchi fried rice, coffee etc. location is perfect very close to the underground.

The location in Hongdae is ideal, close to the shops, the RYSE, there’s a convenience store and Kyochon nearby. The reception was fast and friendly and they even gave me a room upgrade. The room was bi-level and spacious, especially the bedroom area. The hotel is very aesthetic, with the brick themed lobby. I just feel the toilet and bath configuration went too far on the aesthetics though. The sink was too high while the counter was too low it was awkward to use. Even if I wanted to use the bathtub, I skipped it because there are no handrails to safely come up when you’re wet. I ended up just soaking my feet. The Japanese style toilet is very convenient. I like the coffee counter where you can see the Seoul skyline while having coffee. The other table and chair set is also awkward as the table is too low, I think it’s meant to use when you are squatting on the floor and not to be paired with the lounge chair as you will be hunched down the whole tome. I don’t get the design rationale really. The bed is so comfortable though, it’s guaranteed to give you a good night’s sleep.
