Mandinka Lodge

Mandinka lodge was a little piece of heaven hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the main *****. This place is perfect for lone travellers and couples. Diane and Lamin were the perfect hosts. They had lots of suggestions on what I could do and see. I didn't realise Gambia had so much to offer until speaking to them. They organised a private trip for me to go to senegal and have my own private tour around Fathala at a fraction of the cost of tour operators I was originally looking at. The lodges themselves are gorgeous and not overlooked by anyone. They had hot running water (which is important to me) WiFi and electricity. I thought there would be lots of mosquitos but didn't see one. The lodge had nets across the doors and windows which definitely stopped anything getting into my room. The plunge pool was a lovely little surprise too. So refreshing when the sun was at its hottest. When the sun goes down the outside area is lit up by gorgeous lighting. I felt right at home here and always in safe hands as there's 24 hour security. I can't say enough good things about this place. 3 minute taxi ride to the beach and restaurants, about 7 minutes away from the monkey park (which is a must) and about 25 minutes away from the airport. Diane and Lamin were the perfect hosts. I will definitely be returning.
