White Olive Elite Rethymno

We chose this chain last year in Zakynthos, we also stayed in such a hotel and it was also 5 stars. The hotel's location is by the sea, first line and it's wonderful. But keep in mind that from the airport it’s a 2 hour drive through a busy city. The hotel is fresh, the furniture is new, the beds are comfortable, when we asked for a single mattress, they did everything without any problems. The rooms are different, at first we were given a room under the roof, and only the next day, for an additional fee, we were given a family room with a sea view. There are downsides: the sun doesn’t get into this room at all, swimsuits and towels don’t dry at all. There is no dryer, there are not even ropes for drying(((There is mold in the room and bathroom (((Showers after the beach are not thought out, they should be where the main beach is. As a result, there is always a puddle of sand in the bar. The sun loungers are comfortable, new. Some visitors manage to leave towels in the morning. In order to take a seat, although at the reception there is a reminder that the beach is open from 9 and there is no need to take a place in advance. The rooms are cleaned well! No questions! We were even replenished for the shower. But it is advisable to put soap in dispenser, it’s more convenient. Still, you have 5 stars 😏🤔 There are slippers, no bathrobes. Coffee and tea are replenished every day. But apparently our room is an expensive one, I can’t speak for everyone. Although for all 5 stars this is the norm. Minus the room: bath! It's a complete disaster, the washbasin is very low, so low that with a height of 174 it reaches my knees. The shower is not equipped with protection against splashes, so there is a puddle all over the bathtub and in the hallway. My husband fell, fortunately there were no injuries. This is dangerous! Food is simple trouble, sorry 😞 Again, there is something to compare with. The same network, but on Zakynthos the food was divine. One Turkish coffee was worth it, because it’s not a problem to supply a Turkish coffee and ground coffee. Breakfast is the same thing, eggs, bacon, vegetables, crumble omelet is very strange. Muesli, dried fruits, vegetables, cheeses. Lunch is better, but it's still the same thing. There was no seafood for all 7 days. The rice is undercooked and just crunchy. Fish with lemon juice, as they say in the description, is simply impossible to eat, it is sour. Fruits such as kiwi are simply green and unripe, melons are empty and not sweet. Watermelon is good. I don’t even know, if you just take breakfast and eat it somewhere in a restaurant, it’s great. There are no complaints about the staff, everyone is trying their best. We ordered lunch and rented a boat and went out to sea for the day. Lunch is ok, there is a photo. Fruit, juice, ham and cheese toast, water, muffin. The gym was closed all 7 days. The beach is beautiful, although the algae could be removed. The entrance to the sea is gentle, ideal with children! Will we return to this network again, sorry, but unlikely. There are too many nuances.
