Shanghai Bund Riverside Treasury Hotel

Pros: - large rooms - comfortable beds - very clean in public areas and rooms - excellent location Cons: - rooms "with windows" actually go into the corridor* - staff noticeably sick but attending food without masks or gloves** - strong smell of damp in the bathroom - black flies in the bathrooms *We booked rooms advertised as having windows, but when we checked in we were told the windows only lead into a corridor, and on top of that we weren't supposed to use the AC. It's summer in shanghai with no air... not comfortable. **When me and my friend noticed the staff member coughing and loudly spitting at the breakfast bar, we reported it to the front desk. Nothing was done until I messaged two more times and then after twenty minutes someone walked the 30metres to tell the staff to put on masks. It was very off-putting to listen to someone loudly dragging the phlegm out of their throat into their mouth while we were eating. I understand this is a part of chinese culture, but not next to the breakfast.
