Also, the smell in the bathroom was due to Shanghai's rainy season - it rained heavily for over ten days straight. Now that the weather has cleared up, everything's back to normal. There were only one or two loose sockets, which have already been fixed.

Response from Property: It's been over a month since you booked. Is it because it's too hot today and you can't volunteer to direct traffic, so you're writing this bad review? First of all, Bugao Lane is one of the largest Shikumen (stone-gate) residential areas in Shanghai and even China, home to many famous former residences, most notably that of Mr. Ba Jin. When you booked, our brand was listed as Lingju Homestay, and the room name was the name of the residential area. It's clear from your words that you have absolutely no understanding of the history and culture of Shanghai's Shikumen neighborhoods. In your eyes, it must be an old, run-down place. You don't care about historical and cultural value, nor are you here to experience the old alleyway culture; instead, you're judging a homestay with the standards of a five-star hotel. Secondly, regarding the different addresses, we clearly stated this on our homepage and reminded you twice during your booking. After you booked, our customer service actively contacted you to inform you of the address and check-in instructions in advance—three reminders in total. If you can't accept homestays with scattered and different addresses, we suggest you book a hotel instead. When we stay at homestays in Japan, it's quite normal for the key collection point to be 1 kilometer away from the accommodation. Third, while check-in is indeed self-service, what do you mean by "no service"? Our work group is online almost 24/7. Any question you ask will be answered within a minute. If you're short of tissues or trash bags, we'll give you a temporary password to retrieve them from the room's supply locker. Bath towels can be washed and dried in the washing machine, and we've provided laundry detergent. If you need anything else, we'll have the butler deliver it. If anything in the room is broken, we'll call someone to repair it. Apart from check-in being self-service, we've done our utmost to provide almost every possible online and offline service. Finally, regarding the claim that the faucet is movable, that faucet is designed to rotate. As for the claim of a half-empty bottle of mineral water, isn't that a bit of a stretch? I specifically checked the cleaning video before your check-in; the room was spotless and tidy, there wasn't a half-empty bottle of mineral water, and there was no shortage of fresh mineral water for you to drink. For a bathroom in a Shanghai Shikumen (stone gate) building to be like ours, it's hardly shabby. The shower and toilet areas are quite spacious. If you want to expect five-star hotel standards for your bathroom, then please pay five-star prices. Finally, you will be assigned the room you booked; there is no random allocation. Please contact us in advance after booking to obtain the address. Each room has a fixed address. If you don't understand, please don't make things up. Thank you. Lastly, the three photos you posted have absolutely nothing to do with our rooms. They are photos from MixC World in Shanghai's Suzhou Creek area. Therefore, I highly suspect that much of what you said above refers to other rooms!
