The location is very good, just next to IFC mall and some shopping centres nearby. We stayed for 3 nights for our anniversary and the staff upgraded us to a room facing the Bund view. The room is nice, spacious and clean. Special thanks to Rosy for taking care of our needs and bringing us a delicious cake to celebrate. Overall, it was such a pleasant stay and we will be staying in Ritz Carlton again when we come to Shanghai.

The hotel is quite old; the facilities really show their age. I wouldn't recommend buying access to the executive lounge – it's a total rip-off, seriously. There are no freshly cooked hot dishes, and the lunch selection is incredibly sparse. On the second day, I went up to the 52nd floor for breakfast because I just couldn't face the lounge again. The room amenities are also quite dated. During evening turndown service, they only replenished the water and toiletries, but didn't even restock the toothpaste. On the positive side, the staff at the executive lounge and the front desk were all very friendly. Parking is also self-paid. It cost me 188 RMB for one night, though I used IFC points to cover 80 RMB of that.

The room offered a fantastic view directly overlooking the Oriental Pearl Tower. Chris was incredibly warm and thoughtful, even preparing a separate set of toiletries for our little one. The pool temperature was just perfect, making it an ideal spot for families with babies to enjoy a weekend getaway. We also happened to catch an event at IFC, and it was so lively with celebrity fans three layers deep!

Our stay was incredibly comfortable! We even had room decorations and a complimentary small cake for my birthday! Our butler, Serena, provided exceptional service. She's a lovely lady who took care of every detail, from introducing us to our room upon check-in to assisting with luggage storage after check-out. The breakfast was also great in every aspect. I've never willingly given a hotel a perfect five-star rating, but this one deserves it. The location is absolutely fantastic, right above IFC and surrounded by major shopping malls. It's just a few minutes' walk to the Disney Store, the Oriental Pearl Tower, and the Bund.
Even though it's a 10-year-old hotel, you really have to stay here to understand just how incredibly well-maintained it is. The service is practically on-demand; they respond to almost any request incredibly quickly. While they don't automatically deliver takeout to your room, you can call concierge and they'll bring it up.
The hotel breakfast offers a good variety, and everything tastes delicious. 'Variety' is relative, of course – it can't compare to places that specialize solely in breakfast, but it's very good nonetheless.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel to any family or friends who need a place to stay in Shanghai.
