Shanghai Chongming Jinmao Yinyi Hotel

The hotel's service was excellent. The open-air balcony in the room was incredibly comfortable for enjoying the breeze both morning and evening, and the bathroom facilities were also great. I highly recommend the pool. The breakfast had a wide variety of options (the wontons with large pork bones were amazing, and the Chongming rice wine had a mellow, sweet taste). The off-road vehicle, boating, and archery experiences offered in partnership with the hotel are also highly recommended.

Great location, and it's really quiet at night. It's close to Dongtan Wetland, and you can catch a stunning sunset right near the hotel.

This is an excellent resort, conveniently located just a few minutes' drive from the G40 exit. The surroundings are beautiful, nestled in Chongming's natural 'oxygen bar,' with lush greenery and pleasant scenery stretching as far as the eye can see. The hotel architecture is impressive, grand and luxurious, and the room decor is superb. Our room's balcony and bathroom were both very spacious, with high-end facilities, and everything was clean and hygienic. The service was exceptional; the butler, front desk staff, general staff, and buggy drivers were all very attentive. The breakfast spread was abundant, and the freshly made dim sum, noodles, and wontons were delicious. I highly recommend the freshly made omelet – it's my go-to test for any hotel breakfast, and theirs was excellent! The folk programs during the May Day holiday were fantastic, very down-to-earth and artistically excellent. There was even a pleasant surprise at check-out: the hotel gifted us a fruit and vegetable package.

Decided to spend the weekend in Chongming with friends and chose the Hyatt. The Hyatt is spread across several buildings, with the second floor connecting them all. It's a bit confusing to navigate from the parking lot to your room, the kids' play area, or breakfast, as you have to figure out which elevator to take. **Facilities:** There's a kids' play area, though it's not very big. It has a ball pit with a slide, a trampoline, and a few books and table toys. It's enough to let the kids burn off some energy. **Hygiene:** The family room was pretty clean, and the children's sofa was spotless. **Environment:** We didn't explore much outside, but the balcony view was decent. We even caught some fireworks in the distance at night. The only slight drawback was the faint smell of cooking oil as soon as we entered the restaurant in the morning, but we got used to it once we started eating. **Service:** The concierge added me on WeChat right after check-in and was very enthusiastic. Later, when I accidentally broke a cup, they were quick to ask if I needed housekeeping to clean it up.

I booked the pet-friendly room based on the pictures on Trip.com, but it looked nothing like them. The room was tiny and cramped, and the courtyard was minuscule. The hotel offered no service whatsoever; there was no doorman at the lobby entrance, no staff at the Hyatt campus activity center downstairs, and the indoor pool wasn't even open. It was a very disappointing stay, and I definitely won't be coming back.

The room was clean and tidy, with a large balcony featuring an outdoor sofa, which was really nice. I enjoyed the fresh air and the view from the balcony. The hotel offers many experiential activities for guests, like concerts and fireworks. It's definitely worth staying here.

This hotel is truly pet-friendly! They provided welcome gifts for my pet and even special pet meals. There's a dedicated area for guests with pets during breakfast. We were assigned a room on the first floor with a small courtyard, which was great, although the room itself was a bit small (the bathroom, however, was quite spacious).

The location is really out of the way, with nothing around, and the hotel facilities are very limited. They list many activities, but they all cost extra and aren't even that fun. I saw a company team-building event there; they had to entertain themselves. I requested a quiet room, but they didn't prepare one. Instead, I got a room right by the elevator. Whether it was guests or staff, they were slamming doors incredibly loudly, bang, bang, bang, repeatedly. It was so noisy. The room facilities were quite disappointing. The overhead water outlet had no water, and the shower head just trickled. The hot and cold water knob was bizarre – turn it a tiny bit and it's scalding, a tiny bit less and it's freezing. I had no idea which way to turn it, so I just stuck with cold, figuring it's better than getting scalded. The corners weren't very clean either; the silicone sealant was all moldy. Speechless 🤦‍♀️

My friend visited Chongming for a spring outing, so I helped him book a stay at the Grand Hyatt Jinmao. The hotel has a beautiful environment, clean rooms, and excellent facilities. The only downside was the mediocre breakfast.
