Pros: good value for money. The manager and workers are all great and friendly and provided tips. Good location. It is close to the car-accessible road as well (many hotels in the ancient city will require carrying luggage for a very long time, this hotel does not) Cons: Hygiene isn't great; for example, there was a lot of trash under the bed from obviously multiple other previous guests and the bathroom smells. Sound isolation isn't great. Overall: Will come back. Good value for money. Not recommended for clean freaks. Recommended for people used to hostels wanting a social atmosphere. 100% recommended for backpackers and foreigners. The manager also speaks some English.

This was our best accommodation in China! Yuyu and her family are great, she was so helpful and gave us so many tips on what to do in and around Shangri-La, where to eat, how to rent a scooter, etc. She also helped us to book our bus to Feilaisi, letting us use her phone number and giving us directions on where to take the bus, and gave us tips for our Yubeng hike. She stored our big backpacks in a proper space while we went hiking and even lent me a pair of hiking poles. She also saved a room for us for when we came back. The space is very cute, tidy and clean. The room was very cozy and you could see she put so much love into preparing it. We had the most comfortable heated bed and had great nights of sleep. There's also a cute cat and the star of the hostel Fu Bao, a cute little sheep. They have a washing machine for only 5RMB per wash and plenty of space to hang your clothes. The location is great, super close to the square where they have the typical dance at 7pm and it's at the beginning of the way up to a temple where you have amazing views from Shangri-la. We already miss it and hope to come back one day!

Pretty solid stay and definitely worth what we paid. The location is an absolute 10/10—made moving around so easy. Cleanliness was good, beds were comfortable, and everything we needed was there. Customer service was just good. It's a great, no-nonsense budget stay whether you're traveling alone, as a couple, or with friends.

I declare this to be my favorite hostel in Shangri-La! Every time I stay here, it feels like coming home. Sister Youyou is super friendly, and Xiao Yang is incredibly cute. There's an en-suite bathroom, the wild mushroom rice noodles at the hostel are delicious, and the onion scrambled eggs made by the manager are also tasty! The atmosphere is truly fantastic! Everyone comes from all over the country, we might only meet for a few days, but the memories will stay with me forever! I love 'In the Clouds'!

Great location, Ctrip rate is very competitive, well maintained, highly recommended. 100 chicken temple is on the way back to the hotel.

The hygiene here is excellent. Even for a quad room, the housekeeping staff cleans the bathroom and takes out the trash daily. The service is also superb; they proactively offered earplugs and detailed travel guides during check-in. The location is fantastic, just a 2-minute walk to Sifang Street, and joining the Guozhuang dance at night was so much fun! The back hill of Yunduan is Baiji Temple, offering breathtaking views. I highly recommend visiting both! The quad room even has a private bathroom, and there are also public restrooms and showers available. The price is reasonable, offering incredible value for money. Oh, and there's a little lamb at the inn that you can pet! I highly recommend staying here. It's a rare old courtyard in the ancient town that truly feels like stepping back in time ten years.

I loved to stay in this hostel! People are super nice and it was the only hostel i found in china that was actually social. We played games and watched movies every night in the common area. The owner makes sure you have anything you need and feel welcome throughout your stay

It was a lot of fun, with various activities every day. Highly recommended!

The hostel is conveniently located in ancient town and close to Sifeng Square. The lady spoke good English and help me plan and book my sightseeing trips. Front yard of hostel had lots of pretty flowers.

Very friendly people. Had a great time and even a bbq with the people from the hostel. The "boss" arranged to go hiking Abuji-cuo with some other guests at the hostel.

Great location plus super friendly staff. The hostel is in a quiet street so you have peace and quiet. Highly recommended!
