Personally, I think the food in the restaurant is not very good, it is very average. There are better restaurants nearby with affordable prices, such as The Crab, so it is not recommended to eat in the hotel restaurant
Picture 1 is from a restaurant, with a small orange juice, it cost me 26 pounds
Picture 2 is The Crab's accidentally discovered treasure restaurant. It's really delicious! Only £16!

The place is serene and the hospitality is outstanding. I felt so relax. The garden and other facilities make the stay beautiful. Staff was helping and smiling. They makes you feel at home. My stay was really outstanding.

The hotel looks a bit tired with some of the toilet fittings due for replacement and change. the shower head was somewhat dirty (we washed it prior to using it) and the taps could be modernised (the hot and cold taps are separate and not the modern day tap which uses a mixer). Nevertheless, the stay was pleasant. The room was clean and staff were pleasant and helpful. We booked a room with a beautiful sea view and an additional bed (a tad small since it is a single bed). We were given complimentary tickets to access Shanklin Chine which was simply beautiful. Location wise, the hotel is very near to the Shanklin Chine and Shanklin Beach (a short 15 minutes walk down via the Chine) but do drive. there is on-site parking. I would imagine that the hotel would be a top notch hotel in the vicinity in its heyday.

The staff were incredibly friendly. The facilities were great and as a family we had a very relaxing holiday. We had dinner one evening and the food was good with the kids portion sizes being perfect for our 8 and 10 year olds. We stayed in one of the garden rooms with a hot tub and it was great to see they had emptied and clean it out before we stayed.

Unlike many hotels on the island this really exceeded our expectations. Newley decorated in a beautiful location above Shanklin bay set in stunning gardens. All staff polite, friendly and helpful. We treated our selves to a two day stay in a suite with a wonderful balcony. Spotlessly clean, great bed and lots of thoughtful extras and worth every penny. Superb breakfast. The Indoor Pool and Sauna were an added surprise. Children seemed to be very well catered for with dedicated well equipped facilities. Equally good co owned hotel next door caters specifically for dogs. We ate out as we wanted to explore Shanklin, but were greeted on our return to cheerful reception and bar staff (usually the grumpy hour in even the high end hotels). The hotel is run by experienced hoteliers at the top of their game.

Superb location, comprehensive menus to suit all tastes with quality and quantity to satisfy everyone. Accommodation is comfortable with plenty of on site amenities whether you want be active or chilled out. All staff are friendly, welcoming and efficient and a good teamworking ethos is apparent.

This is a very warm & friendly hotel for a family and friends gathering. Lots for the children to do within the hotel and close by. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming and made us all very welcome. The views from the balcony of room 21 were stunning.
