Terrible.! Dark room (window is onto the corridor where other guests walk), foul smell, brown water, dirty toilet, no toilet paper, fridge acts as freezer, most sockets don’t work, towel was stolen from pool area, staff were rude especially bar man when I asked for a coffee.! Some of the staff are great and the location and pool are good but it’s not worth it.! There are much better places

Wherever I go in the world mosquitoes always love to bite me . But maybe something else was doing the biting at this rundown & dirty hotel? I was there for 28 days encompassing Christmas & New Year. I should have realised something wasn't right based on how little I paid for the holiday. But broadly speaking I was happy to accept that you get what you pay for. The food was bland & repetitive but the drinks were ok until the last couple of days. Then the brand of vodka was changed to something akin to medical alcohol. Fortunately the exchange rate being offered by several local shopkeepers was so good, It cost very little to eat/drink in Naama Bay. I appreciate that as an All Inclusive guest I shouldn't have had to do that. But it was either that or eat the same boring & unacceptable food at the hotel every day. Ok, here's an explanation of the horrific photograph that I've attached....... By day three I was well & truly covered in what I assumed were mosquito bites. Mainly on both of my lower legs. In an attempt to relieve the itching I decided to spend a few hours in the small circular heated jacuzzi pool. However the itching actually intensified afterwards & the next day seven of the bites started to look as though they'd become infected. Obviously with what were now weeping sores I couldn't go outdoors during the daytime. Due to the amount of flies that liked to investigate my open wounds. I sent photos home to two friends who are both nurses asking what they thought had bitten me? Neither were prepared to hazard a guess but neither thought they were mosquito bites either. Over the next 3+ weeks I had to spend the daylight hours in my room. Yet the bite levels still continued to gradually increase? I'm not a sun worshiper so having to stay indoors wasn't the end of the world. But it would have undoubtedly ruined most people's holiday. News of my predicament reached reception & a manager arranged to have my room fumigated. But the bite count still continued to slowly increase. By this time I reckon I was one of the best customers the pharmacist opposite the hotel had ever had? But he was brilliant & was more than happy to sell me items that would have required a prescription in the UK. All but one of my bites gradually began to heal. But the one in the photograph flatly refused to show any improvement. In fact it took two months of twice weekly visits to the nurse at my GP surgery before it finally healed up. According to a few locals in a bar I stared to use in the evening (The Tavern). The Falcon Naama Star is well known in the area for such matters. And several fingers were pointed at the filthy state of the water in the jacuzzi pool (although it looked ok to me) And the overall lack of cleanliness at the hotel. I only encountered two other guests that were having the same problem. But one of them is still in hospital in the UK. Having had to have skin grafts on his lower legs. Apparently his infection was so bad he was told that two

Solo trip away diving, the hotel provided everything needed, Reasonably nice food, Beer, and a comfy bed. But in general the hotel is dated and quite tired, not somewhere that I would bring the wife for a holiday. But the staff were pleasant and helpful and it was value for money.
