Small rooms but good area and good price threw Trip.com

The pool was closed and they didn’t mention it before I came. Also there is a deposit you have to pay when you get there.

Dear Chester Inn Management, I am writing to formally express my disappointment with my recent stay in Room 304 while attending a nearby convention. From the moment I entered the room, both it and the entire hallway had a strong, unpleasant odor - reminiscent of dampness and unclean conditions. The smell was overwhelming and made the space very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, because I arrived late in the evening after my convention, I had limited options to address the issue or relocate. In addition to the odor, several amenities that are typically expected were unavailable. The pool and gym were both closed, there was no coffee or breakfast service downstairs, and the ice machines were not functioning. The in-room coffee machine was also in unacceptable condition, with visible handprints and residue, which raised concerns about cleanliness. Another issue was the inability to open the windows, which may have contributed to the stagnant air and musty smell. I woke up feeling congested and unwell, which I believe was directly related to the air quality in the room. Perhaps most concerning was the lack of responsiveness from the front desk staff. My concerns did not seem to be taken seriously, which only added to the frustration of the experience. Due to these issues, I cannot see myself staying at your property again. I felt it was important to bring this to your attention so that improvements can be made for future guests.

The hotel was very nice inside and out. Rooms were adequate and clean. Bed was fine and comfortable. Some of the amenities shown like indoor pool and fitness facility was out of service. Room had coffee pot, tv, and fridge. Air/heat worked but was in the corner of the room and too close to the bed. It either got too hot or too cold. That being said we would stay there again.

While the people who checked me in were friendly, the state of the hotel was not good. There was water damage in and on the walls in multiple places including my room which had stains from ceiling to halfway down the wall. The state of the hallway carpets did not look as if they had been cleaned in quite some time and indeed, the towels left outside a room door on my floor on the day of my check-in were there when I checked out. The floors in my room had not been vacuumed and debris from the ceiling was in various places. The couch in my room was also stained. The furniture was quite worn and beaten up as well. The bed, however was comfortable. Lastly, the website marketing was misleading. The descriptions did not accurately describe the room and the pictures showed rooms that were in better state, with furniture that was not present in the room, and in general a cleaner condition. Overall, the cost of the room did not match what was provided in terms of written and visual information. In general, I don't write reviews, but I know I would not stay at this hotel again and I would recommend people look elsewhere for accommodations. There were better options in the same general area which looked to be in better shape.

I cannot recommend staying here. We chose it for its convenient location when we attended a film convention, but the problems began right after check-in (the room’s toilet paper wasn’t stocked, despite us requesting it at the front desk on our way to the convention). The most egregious events happened that night, when we returned late from convention networking events. There were a spattering of white blobs stuck to the wall right above the bed, almost like spitballs, and a massive wasp in the room despite the fact that we hadn’t opened any windows before heading to the con. We immediately requested assistance at the front desk, but the staff member there was completely dismissive and unwilling to help. He essentially kept telling us that there was nothing he could do, no one who could help us, and our only option was to return to the clearly uncleaned room with a massive wasp inside. He was even very rude and asked us why we hadn’t noticed this when we dropped our bags, as if that’s ever an excuse for a room to be covered in mystery white blobs, the proper housekeeping service not performed, and a MASSIVE WASP in our completely closed room. Eventually he (seemingly reluctantly) called a supervisor, who was immediately able to move us to another bug-free room despite the desk worker’s assertion that there were absolutely no rooms left and they were fully booked. The cleanliness and safety issues were one thing, but the staff’s dismissive behavior was unacceptable.

When we first got there they told us that the pool was closed, I only booked this hotel because it had a pool otherwise I would have stayed somewhere nicer. We looked past that and went to the room but when we got there the bed was unmade and there was stuff all on the ground like it had not been vacuumed. There were also yellow (looked like cheese sauce) on the blanket. After going downstairs the lady at the front desk rolled her eyes at my wife and said she would give us a new room, the lady then got smart with my wife and asked if we wanted her to go check it first, but at a hotel the room should be clean and ready for the next guest. While the lady at the front desk was upstairs the laundry person kept walking past and getting smart with my wife and we asked for a manager at that point but she stated there was not one there. We did end up staying because it was late and we were tired after driving but we will never stay here again. I’d much rather sleep in my car than sleep here. Don’t even get me started on the smoke detector having tape sealing it off.

Quick and easy check in. The room itself was decent but the hallways and elevator could use a good cleaning. No breakfast, the pool was closed. The Ice machine was down. Coffee maker in room but no cups for coffee. Probably won't stay again.

They didn't have breakfast at all the pool was down for maintenance the ice machines had no ice there was blood on the pillow case i am total dissatisfied and would like a refund
