Mercure Sheffield St Paul's Hotel & Spa

The hotel was recommended but did not live up to expectations. First room smelt, did not have privilege benefits that had been paid for. No phone in room to talk to main desk so had to keep going downstairs to reception. Second room was on 5th floor so all privilege rooms but we were given a disabled access room. Breakfast was disappointing as only five option on hot food counter and choices of fruit and yogurt limited. We decided to check out on the Sunday evening, rather than staying for the third and the last night.

Great price and location but dated hotel. Tatty carpets and stains. Air con hardly works and TV didn't work. Mattress not comfy. Photo is peace garden and hotel behind.

Location is great, however as the hotel hasn’t been renovated for ages, the rooms and bed are quite tired.

Robin, on the reception desk, was very professional and friendly and gave me a very warm welcome and a great first impression. The hotel, being directly attached to the Winter Garden, has a great central location and is less than ten minutes by foot to the train station (which is all wheelchair and suitcase accessible). All the breakfast staff were also attentive and helpful even early in the morning.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds and really quiet to say we were in the centre of Sheffield. Staff were friendly and helpful, even let us check in a little earlier.

The Mercure Sheffield St. Paul’s Hotel & Spa is centrally located, albeit the rooms are starting to show some wear and tear. The carpets need to be removed/swapped, and the service could be better.
