Sheffield Metropolitan Hotel by Belvilla

Extremely bad, zero stars. 1. The area around the hotel felt unsafe, with many strange people around and construction sites. At night, there were "San Ge" (a term often used to refer to South Asians) singing and dancing, creating a lot of noise! It was impossible to sleep! 2. The design is poor. The room was extremely stuffy and uncomfortable, and the windows could only be opened a tiny crack. 3. There was no air conditioning, only a very dirty fan (see pictures). 4. Upon entering the hotel, there was a terrible stench that was nauseating. Every time I went downstairs, the smell was there. 5. The bathroom didn't even have a tissue box; the tissue holder was empty. I have to ask, did you even clean it? 6. The towels and signs were all crooked and haphazardly placed. 7. The front desk staff was incompetent. With Ctrip, I always pay after my stay for all hotels, but the front desk insisted I hadn't paid. 8. The shower water was scalding hot and couldn't be adjusted to a lower temperature. 9. The Wi-Fi felt unsecured, and the windows were very, very dirty. Avoid this place at all costs. The 4-star hotel I stayed at in Manchester was a hundred times better and even cheaper than this one.

The room was simple and the facilities were average, but the breakfast was a pleasant surprise with its rich variety.
