Shenyang Zhongjie Imperial Palace FONTOO Hotel

I found this hotel on Trip.com, wanting to be close to the Forbidden City. Well, it turned out to be a little *too* close ☺️☺️. Rooms on higher floors have a view of the Forbidden City, but I was given a room on the second floor, which only looked out onto the backyard. The window directly faced other people's houses, so I didn't dare open the curtains – it felt a bit unsafe. The breakfast was surprisingly rich and excellent 👍! They had cold dishes, hot dishes, chicken racks, and Northeastern-style sausages 👍. The coffee ☕️ was good, and the noodles 🍜 were delicious and very refined 👍. The surrounding area is fantastic; Liu Laogen Grand Stage and Wang Houyuan Dumpling Restaurant are right nearby, and just a short walk further is Zhongjie Street – you can find anything you need ☺️. Walking to the Forbidden City only takes a few minutes, which is absolutely wonderful! 😍

Right outside is the Forbidden City, so if you're planning to visit, this hotel is a perfect choice. The only minor drawback is that the toilet isn't very modern; it lacks a heated seat. Taxis are convenient, though traffic can be a bit congested. It would be even better if the cleanliness could be improved.

This hotel near the Shenyang Imperial Palace is divine! You can see the red walls of the palace right from your room. We unfortunately hit heavy rain and couldn't go inside, but we did get to see it from the outside. The hotel rooms are spacious, and the bedding is super comfortable!

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic! You just cross one intersection and you're at the main gate of the Forbidden City. To the left of the hotel is Liu Laogen Grand Stage, and to the right is Wang Houyuan Dumpling restaurant. The breakfast was also really good, especially the beef rice noodles – so delicious!

Highly recommend booking the Deluxe Twin Room; it's very spacious! The room on the fifth floor offers a lovely view of the Forbidden City, which I absolutely adored. It's super convenient for visiting the Shenyang Imperial Palace Museum, the little church by the South Gate, and Zhang Xueliang's Former Residence. Zhongjie is lively and bustling, perfect for a pleasant stroll and some fun in the evening!

The hotel is clean, has a great environment, and offers a rich breakfast. It's perfectly located right next to the Imperial Palace and Middle Street. Downstairs, you'll find Wang Houyuan, Xiao Dong Ge, Smoked Meat Pancakes, and Liu Laogen Grand Stage.

You can walk to attractions and explore the old city in no time. The hotel has its own parking lot, which is a huge plus if you're driving. The room was clean and tidy, with ample space, and the bedding was very comfortable. The soundproofing was also good, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The front desk service was attentive, and check-in/check-out was efficient and smooth. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, making dining and shopping very convenient. Overall, it offers great value for money. I highly recommend staying here for your Shenyang trip, and I'd definitely consider it again next time.

The hotel is right by the main road, but my GPS led me down a difficult back alley. A heads-up for future guests to plan for the main road. It's directly across from the Forbidden City, so close you can just walk there. They have parking, and there are lots of food stalls nearby. The room was clean and tidy, and breakfast was plentiful. Watch out, it's a one-way street!

The room's cleanliness needs improvement, some front desk staff have a poor attitude, and breakfast is just average.
