My partner treated me to a spa hotel stay here in September 2023 and little did I know that this would be the occasion he proposed to me. From start to finish the staff were faultless, the facilities were clean, and room we had was beautiful. We booked in for an evening meal and were treated like royalty. The food was delicious! After our meal the staff had set up a picnic area for us in the garden and my partner popped the question. The picnic area looked like something from a disney movie, just magical. The staff could not have done more for us on our stay and we will definitely be back. Great value for money, but best yet the team of people that made our stay the best day of our lives so far. See you soon

The hotel facilities and grounds were lovely with a tasty yet limited menu. Our room was spacious and clean but in need of and update or few repairs. It would help to have the wi fi code in the room as well as receptions phone number. No milk was provided for coffee but it was provided when we went to reception. The spa was brilliant! Lovely stay.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Our children had bought us our stay with spa trea**ent each, dinner and breakfast included. The staff were all really helpful and friendly they appeared happy at work which always gives a nice vibe. Spa trea**ents (facial and massage) were really good. Food was excellent. Our standard room could probably do with a bit of an update, however this wasn’t a big issue to us. If you are a perfectionist it may not be the place for you.

We came originally in October 2023 to celebrate my 30th. We have previously visited the spa and we loved it so we thought we'd stay instead. Cut a long story short we were offered a complimentary stay as my 30th was ruined by the state of the spa and majority not working. We thought we'd take up our complimentary stay for my partners birthday and we were expecting such big things as the spa only reopened Monday after its "transformation". We were upgraded in rooms which was lovely. Our room was lovely except the bath leaked a lot of water when we turned it on. Other than that we enjoyed our room stay. However, the spa is still in need of repairs and renovation. The pool was dirty and bits in it. The jets were siliconed back in from our last visit and still not working. The jacuzzi was working finally but the sauna and the NEW hydro pool weren't and were out of use. We didn't stay long in the spa as we noticed no change to the spa from last time except a bit of paint, change of gates and some new tiles. We use to love the spa from a couple of years ago, but we can honestly say we won't be visiting again and will be finding a new spa to enjoy time in. I believe it's falsely advertised. The 2 stars given are solely for our room upgrade.

The hotel was clean enough but so very tired. The overall standard of the hotel, maintenance etc was not in keeping with the prices charged. Limited facikities, no room service, no mini bar etc… most of the staff were nice but not somewhere we would stay again as standards just too low.

Average,i booked through county hotel breaks so im not sure who’s at fault.I booked a superior room as this was a stay for the night after our wedding. The stay included spa access and Dinner and breakfast. When we arrived we were taken to a double room that was quite frankly shabby considering the calibre the hotel used to be or considers itself to represent.I asked reception about my booking and they checked and realised that they had put me in the wrong room but there were no Superior rooms.Luckily there was a room available for us which was to the size I was expecting. But I’m not sure what would have happened were there not have been the room available?I don’t know if this is miscommunication on the part of the hotel or the third party booking but it would have significantly ruined my weekend if we had to stay in the original room. The hotel needs a total update even in the suite we had it was missing the finishing touches you’d expect it needs a total freshen up the shower controls fell off there’s no glasses in the room no power socket for the kettle on the side no fridges. The food was excellent and the service was too but the hotel itself needs some TLC. Ive basically had an insight to what a standard room would be here and I wouldn’t ever book one of them myself.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and well equipped and the ironing board a real help! The bathrooms were large and also well equipped. Breakfasts were fabulous and plentiful. We ate in the restaurant and all of us enjoyed our meals, particularly the main courses. Cocktails lovely. Spa a bonus.

Thank you for an excellent stay in Shepton Mallet. Beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms...elegant style with modern comfort. Good breakfast and staff very helpful. Definitely going to return as it is perfect for visits to Bath and Bristol. Oh yes, and the spa was good, too... peace and Asian luxury.

The staff were absolutely excellent, very friendly and helpful. The room was ok,not all the switches worked and the bath plug was blocked so if you took a shower it ended up as a bath. The evening meal was ok but the breakfast was terrible, arrived cold sent it back to be given another cold breakfast after waiting 45 minutes. The spa itself wasn’t the cleanest and some of the facilities weren’t working. For the money we paid we expected more. To us it was overpriced for what it was.
