The Oddfellows Arms

The room was very clean and comfortable. It exceeded my expectations with regard to the little extras that mean so much ie coffee and tea milk and sugar in plentiful supply. This extends to the bathroom with plenty of shower gel and soaps which I did not use but appreciated the fact they were there.

Checked in during an impromptu visit to the area. No food served but directed to places where we could eat or where they could make arrangements in our room. Polite, helpful and friendly staff throughout. Room was clean and comfortable. Beef was lovely and good night sleep by both. Thank you for making us welcome after a long, hot day. We would stay again, if in the area. X

Stayed in Room 4. Small room and ensuite bathroom. The room was clean, and there were tea and coffee facilities. There were however a number of maintenance issues, the lock on the door was loose, the rack to hang your clothes on had come loose at the top end. Looking at previous reviews these issues were picked up on a review posted two years ago. The main light would only occasionally work if you banged the light fitting (not ideal as this could be due to loose wires). Shower had very little flow and was more of a drip than a shower. We thought the nightly rate was high for the standard of the property and lack of breakfast.

First time eating at Oddfellows Arms tonight. Picked Steak Night as the prices looked amazing value. 1 starter which was delicious. 4 of us each had a sirloin steak, cooked to perfection, with generous sides. We tried all 3 sauces, all of which were fantastic. 3 different puddings - all great. Service was brilliant from everyone, all with a smile. The value was unbelievable - cannot recommend this enough. Thanks Oddies Team.

Room was clean, bathroom was clean, heating was good, mattress was excellent.

The welcome was warm, staff are lovely and the pub food is very good. Squeaky, metal bed frames were not expected when it costs £40 to lie on it, though.

Just needed a night sleep however the mattress was of shocking quality. I could feel every single metal spring during the night. I woke up super early with back pain and more tired than the night before.

Smallish room but sufficient, very clean, and well equipped, would stay again

Only there for an overnight stay, but would return again and recommend to others. Small but functional room. Well supplied with essentials. Friendly helpful staff. When having travelled a long way with dogs I wanted somewhere to walk them and find somewhere to eat
