I travel in Texas for work frequently and am used to this price range of hotel so I am making comparisons to very similar hotels. The staff that I did encounter were pleasant and helpful. The moment I checked in and made my way to the room, there was a prominent foul odor that persisted throughout the hotel. It was very musty throughout and the elevator was very dirty with a strong urine smell. It was immediately apparent that this hotel has not been maintained in a healthy way for quite some time. Perhaps they do not see the volume of customers needed to maintain proper care and maintenance. The breakfast was the same in that is was very minimal for what you would typically be offered at this type of hotel with free breakfast. There was no fresh fruit. I typically eat oatmeal and there is always some sort of topping offerings like sliced almonds, raisins, cranberries, etc. Here, there was nothing offered. Just packets of instant oatmeal. They had other breakfast basics but it was very minimal. In the room I wore shoes at all times as the carpet was dirty and stained and felt sticky. The office chair for the room was broken and I had to keep putting the broken wheel back into its base. The bathroom was clean but outdated. I worked out in the morning and they had a few cardio machines but no free weights or weight machines. My business fortunately ended earlier than expected and instead of staying the additional night, I just checked out to get home. It was a pretty disgusting experience for me.
