The Swan Inn

Lovely traditional pub / hotel with well appointed rooms with character. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The a**osphere was relaxed and the food served in the restaurant was first class. We will definitely be back.

The service was amazing from the moment we checked into The Swan till we left after breakfast the next day. We were served that evening by Maggie and Jacob who was super personable, friendly and with a great sense of humour. All the staff including Peter (potwash) made our stay special, simply because they were down to earth and it was obvious they genuinely liked their jobs and enjoyed working there

We had an excellent stay at The Swan for a birthday getaway. Food was excellent, the Cob room was cosy and very much our own space to come and go as we please. Special mention to Jacob, who looked after us brilliantly across all our meals there - a real asset to the pub. We’ll definitely be back.

Stayed here for one night in mid April in a double bedroom with bath. The room was at top of the building and so cosy given the eves of the roof. Definitely ok for one night though. The bath was excellent with a strong water supply and plenty of hot water. Dinner was good and the bar staff helpful and friendly. The open fires in the bar/restaurant were great to see. The breakfast policy is very odd in my mind though. Breakfast is included in the room rate, but it is only a continental breakfast which is not clear on the booking. A cooked breakfast is available at an additional cost, which I have never come across despite travelling widely in this country. It’s normally no breakfast or all in depending on the deal. Cooked was there as an option, so it seems they want to increase revenue even further. It was already a £370 spend for one night with dinner for two so I had no appetite to spend more. This policy looks greedy to me. I had a conversation with the general manager about the policy afterwards and was given various reasons from its always been that way to it’s the booking platform. Neither had any logic for me. Very strange policy. A place to stay for continental breakfast lovers only probably.

I wish I was staying longer! Lovely welcome late at night and exhausted - greeted with a pot and tea and the most beautiful room with the biggest bath. Lots of thought gone into the little things - including the welcome postcard. Breakfast was scrumptious - amazing value. I will be back.

A weekend break for myself, my wife, daughter and her fiancé. Lovely traditional bar and restaurant. Service from entire staff was second to none. Having a bath and no shower wasn’t ideal. Overall very happy with our stay, my only gripe would be considering what the weekend cost us, not having a full breakfast in the price was a little mean.

Fabulous stay! Beautiful large room with comfy bed and pillows. Fun to have the bath in the room! Staff were wonderful, so friendly. Had both dinner and breakfast there which were . Walked around the village and found such lovely quaint places. Definitely recommend.

Hot breakfast is an additional cost. This wasn’t stated anywhere on the menus at breakfast and we weren’t told by staff so myself & fiancé ended up getting the hot breakfast to find out it cost us an additional £32. Although it’s not a massive deal, it would’ve been nice to have been told or to have read it, stated on the menu. Despite this, it’s a lovely village pub hotel in a stunning location. We stayed in Room 1 which was nicely decorated (bright, which I love) & very clean. Breakfast was nice, drinks were reasonably priced & staff were friendly & helpful. We would stay again!

The remodel of this Old English Pub leaves much to be desired. There is little to no parking. But most importantly the staff are not friendly. Although breakfast is allegedly included, I was charged about $10 USD for coffee. For the price, I would expect a little more hospitality, especially for a spot in the Cotswolds. For me, the experience of staying at a Pub vs a hotel with much more amenities is the opportunity to interact with the folks managing the Inn. Sadly, this Swan Inn needs a lot of work to become more hospitable for guests.
