This is our 2nd visit to this lovely hotel. We recently stayed as party of 6 to celebrate a birthday on the Sunday stay offer. This included carvery in the Antler bar and breakfast the following morning, with an overnight stay in one of their lovely rooms, this was extremely good value. From check in to check out we could not fault anything with our stay. We were greeted by professional friendly staff at reception, they were very quick to rectify a small issue that we had with one of the rooms. The friendliness and hospitality of the staff in the Antler bar was superb. All agreed in the party the carvery was one of the best they’ve ever had. We look forward to our next visit.

Had an amazing time in the restaurant with family, all staff were super attentive and friendly, big thank you to su, Alex, Ellie P, and jack who all looked after us and made our time as good as they possibly could. All of our food was brilliant, I had a ribeye that was cooked to perfection and the desserts were delicious. Will definitely be back at some point. Would like to give a special mention to Alex and Ellie who dealt with any issue and queries that we had straight away with no issues whatsoever.

Upon arrival, the reception looks lovely like a boutique hotel should. However, this is the first and last boutique part of the hotel. When we got to the front of the queue to check in we were met by two quite abrupt receptionists who seemed very disinterested at doing their actual job, and looked my other half up and down like we did not belong in the hotel, possibly because we’re a young couple and the hotel seems more “geared” towards the middle aged and family’s. This then continued when he went back to the front desk a few hours later and asked for an extra toilet roll and coffee pods. To which the lady behind the desk said ‘well that depends’ very abruptly, even though the guest book in the room says to ask reception for this, (you’d think he’d asked for a pint of blood). He had to speak quite abruptly back for her to have any respect for him and realise she’d crossed a line, manners don’t seem to exist in the reception of this hotel. Not to mention we had no hand soap in the room either and although the room looks nice at face value, it is not worth the money, we did only stay in a premier double so this may be the reason, but it is supposed to be a boutique hotel. It does need an update, including smart TV’s and comfortable beds, the beds are large but not very comfortable. The bathroom also wasn’t great, the tiles were mouldy in places and mis-matched. Not to mention the very decorative toothpaste stains from the previous guests on the taps... gave it a real “homely feel”. As well as all of this, there was also a party which went on until 1 in the morning, at-least (we know this because this is when we eventually got tired enough to fall asleep). You’ll either love or hate this hotel and I am quite disappointed I wasted my money on it. As well as all of this, when we asked if we could eat food in the room the receptionist replied “yes, just pick your phone up, call me and I will bring you food from the bar, that’s room service” like my partner was a delinquent. After such an abrupt welcoming and rude responses. You’ll be shocked to read we decided not to spend another penny in the hotel. Instead we went out elsewhere for food, so I cannot comment on the bar or food in the hotel. However, when we went in for cutlery to eat our food from the local Chinese, the bar staff were more than happy to help and were friendly… they could give the receptionists some tips.

We went away for a night to have a break after my wife's knee surgery. All our expectations were met or exceeded. We asked for a shower cubicle (rather than my wife having to climb into a bath) and it was no trouble. At both breakfast and dinner, our needs were met, with variations offered to match our dietary requirements. But on top if this (and so important in these days when hospitality staff are often in short supply) was the wonderfully warm welcome we received from every member of the team that we met. I'll mention Chloe at the bar, and Adam in the restaurant, because they were brilliant, and I remember their names. If there is some sort of reward available for these fine young people, they certainly deserve it. However, the ladies on reception and the other staff in The Antler and Prego were also superb. Add into that a very comfortable room, incredibly good value, a beautiful location and an easy walk to a waterfall, and it is certain that we will be returning whenever we fancy a night away.

We recently stayed here for our wedding anniversary (9 years). It is our yearly night away and it never disappoints. Fiona was very welcoming with a big smile on her face. We communicated through email and through telephone and was always quickly to reply for what I was asking and nothing was a problem for her. Advised us to book our evening meal at the restaurant as it was filling up very fast and didn't want us to be disappointed. Since staying I have emailed for other questions regarding future bookings and booking the amazing Sunday dinners in the bar. She is a very knowledgeable about her job and nothing is a problem for her. Credit member of The Derwent Manor team

Me and my husband have recently just stayed at The Derwent Manor Boutique Hotel. Wow! The place is fantastic. The decor is incredible, the food was outstanding every single member of the team was happy and so kind. Couldn't ask more than that. The Reception Team are very welcoming. We will most certainly be returning.

We visited the Antler Bar and restaurant and were hugely disappointed. We ordered nachos to start and when they came they were the smallest portion I’ve ever seen for £13.50 I expected the plate to be loaded as they are in other places, we often have them to share and can rarely finish them. It was literally a bag of tortillas heated up with three tiny pots of dips on the side sprinkled with some grated cheddar! We thought never mind, we were delighted when the manager informed us that loaded fries were back on the menu and having had them several times previously we knew they were plentiful and really loaded with topping. However when they arrived it was an absolutely tiny portion and anything but loaded !! The whole thing was hugely disappointing and the Prego Restaurant gave us much the same impression, poor choice on the menu and food Luke warm. Come on guys this used to be a really nice place to eat, what’s happened!!

We used this hotel as the accommodation for our wedding at Healey Barn. I stayed in The Nest which is the bridal suite, and the room was unbelievable. The natural lighting and big open area in the suite was perfect for getting ready for my wedding with my bridesmaids and mam. We received a complimentary bottle of wine and truffles as a congratulations, and housekeeping completely cleaned the room from us leaving for the wedding and my husband and I arriving back there on the evening after the wedding. The robes provided were so comfy, not like the usual hotel robes which are a towel material. We had breakfast both mornings and they were lovely. The hotel has a bridal party breakfast list to choose from a variety of options as well as providing ice buckets which was a nice touch. The only negative during the stay was the food we had at the Antler's Bar, the salads were really disappointing especially for a charge of £13 and the pizza was no better than oven pizzas I've had before. Thankfully our waiter was very understanding and gave us our drinks for free to apologise. The girls on reception were so lovely in congratulating us on our wedding despite us not actually getting married at the hotel, this was really lovely.
