The front desk person swiped my card even though everything was paid for and it deleted the payment, however she still took care of me and my needs, made sure my daughter and I were comfortable. She also handled the business with trip.com for me. That’s why I stay here everytime I visit!

If I could rate 10 Stars…I would! Kia: Front Desk Manager Shaketha: Breakfast Taurus: Houskeeping LaTonya: Housekeeping Cleanest rooms ever!!! This whole team was extremely inviting, friendly, professional and in tune to our needs. We were traveling and decided on this Marriott over others and I’m so happy we did!!! Everything was wonderful and LaTonya hunted down a few more makeup remover wipes that I desperately needed. It’s the little things that matter! Great job everyone, continue the phenomenal teamwork and we’ll stay here every time we travel or visit Shreveport! 🙌🏽👊🏽💯 Room rate well worth it!

Our last experience should have been our final but, we decided to give our former beloved Eldorado ****** a second chance. When reservations were made it was implied there had been some good changes to the property. It was not true. Updates and upkeep is apparently not on the agenda. The rooms remain outdated. They were just dirty and I am talking “deep dirty” that has been ignored far too long. Here are just a few examples of my hotel room experience. I spilled a glass of water and grabbed a towel to blot it up and in a matter of seconds the towel had large brown stains on it. The brown stains are left up to the imagination of what it came from. The last night of our stay my door would not open. I found housekeeping staff member to try their master key and was told the door was broken. After two phone calls to the front desk, I was put in another room and was told I was being upgraded to a suite. I could've cared less if I had an upgraded room or not. I only needed a room to sleep a few hours and the common decency of the staff in expressing their regrets that the BLASTED door couldn't be fixed. It was of no surprise the suite had not been updated and dust was prominent everywhere. We are living in epidemic times and most hotel properties have protocols in place and abide by them to ensure their guest safety. The restaurant food was not horrible. The main problem we would select an option only to learn they didn’t have it. In addition we were told they had not had selection for some time. During our stay, the steakhouse was not open. The gift shop has limited hours. The spa has limited hours and limited massage therapists. The staff at the spa were efficient and welcoming. I generally play slots vs table games. There were only a limited number of slots than what they have had in the past. Most of the slot machines were old and several machines had signs on them as inoperable. If you are a smoker there is no smoking inside the property per city ordinance. They are in process of building a “Patio” that was advertised on the flyer we received in the mail but, it has not been completed. The whole environment of this property is OFF. To say some of the staff were not customer service oriented would seem to be an exaggeration, I assure you it is not. With the name change one might think the property has been revamped. It is not. If management doesn’t get it up to the standards that most guests/players have come to expect, the outlook for this property is grim.
Courtyard Shreveport Airport

Last night we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Shreveport Louisiana near the airport. It looked online to be a freshly renovated and updated property. When we arrived, we, hands down had the worst room experience we’ve ever had —period. We arrived and everything looked fine, the hotel sign was new branding, the landscaping and building looked brand new, ditto the reception area and lounge. But as we headed for our booked 2 room king , the corridor looked a bit dated, well, okay we’re not staying in the corridor. There also was an odd odour though, again we can deal with that. We opened the door to to our room to a full on disaster. The room smelled like a skunk and one that perhaps in its past had smoked. After turning on the lights (not all lights worked) we discovered a room well beyond its prime and I would say embarrassing to Marriott. We’d expect better, it was dismal. The furniture was dirty, a sofa bed looked dirty and broken down, I wouldn’t get too close to it to try. I opened the drapes and the windows were too filthy to see through. The carpeting had seen better days, the closet had no doors. Thankfully the linens on the bed seemed okay. Lampshades we’re scuffed broken or stained throughout the room and not all fixtures worked. We went for dinner, returned and the room odour was still disgusting. Thankfully this was only for one night, unfortunately there were not a lot of choices in the area and we were tired from a long day of driving. Upon checkout the pleasant woman at the front desk, when I started to tell her, about our room, she looked at me knowing exactly what I was going to say about what we had experienced. She went on to say politely that they had renovated from the outside in and the rooms hadn’t been done yet. She was very pleasant and I know it’s not her issue it’s a corporate issue, but she’s the customer facing representative, thank goodness she was lovely and offered to request extra points for us for the experience. Thank you for your efforts. To corporate that’s not the point, your product was subpar, and did not meet expectations. I feel for the operator of the hotel who has to face us customers as a result of corporate decisions. That room should not have been sold to us let alone loyal bonvoy customers. If that was the best room you had I am shocked. Tonight we’re in a lovely Towneplace in north San Antonio at RIM, night and day. Thankfully.

PLEASE BEWARE! I travel for business year round and have for more than 20 years. This is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The worst part was taking my drivers license, copying it without permission, and not returning the copy when I checked out. I was told it was hotel policy in case of damages. In the morning, I told them I would gladly wait while my room was checked for damages, but insisted on getting it back. They refused. At first saying they did not return these copies, then saying it had been shredded last night. This made no sense. I further insisted on knowing what happened and where the copy was. At this point they threatened to call the police. I was not being confrontational so I was taken aback by this move. That being said, I certainly stayed to discuss it with the authorities. They told the officers the copy had been shredded. I did not believe this but agreed to leave. This was the most combative situation I’ve ever been confronted with at an IHG property. I’m a Diamond Elite with them and very loyal. However, this is making me consider changing hotel brands. Please understand, I do not want to be critical. I’ve never written a negative hotel review, but this is too much, too far. I have filed an official complaint with IHG, have a case number, and waiting to hear back.
Hilton Shreveport

It's 10PM and I'm arriving in Shreveport for my dad's surgery in the morning. I called the Hilton to confirm that the hotel knew I was arriving late, and I was informed by the front desk clerk that they were oversold and did not have a room for me, but that they would walk me down the street to another hotel that was used for their overflow. I asked if it was equivalent to the Hilton in ratings. The answer was no. The reviews for the other location were terrible. When I asked why I was not notified that they had no rooms, the desk clerk responded that the day shift must have been busy. So was I!! I told him I was not comfortable with the ratings of the other hotel and their reviews for cleanliness were not good. I asked if there were other options? The response was, ”No, but if you want to cancel I can refund your money.” I told him that was really nice - especially since they didn't have a room for me. Seriously?!?!!!! Done with Hilton. I frequent the Omni and Hyatt for both work and pleasure weekly and never has this happened. Really disappointing and super frustrating - not to mention inconvenient as I'm trying to find another locations to stay. So much for customer service and reservations. Thank you Marriott for coming to the rescue and even offering a discount.
