My stay at Hotel Continental Forum in Sibiu, Romania, was an absolute gem of an experience. 🏨 Nestled in the heart of this charming Transylvanian city, the hotel's location was a perfect blend of convenience and historic charm. The highlights of the hotel were its elegant rooms, each tastefully decorated and offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The friendly and attentive staff added a warm touch, making me feel truly welcomed. Waking up to the view of Sibiu's old town from my room was a highlight in itself. The hotel's proximity to landmarks like the Council Tower and the Brukenthal National Museum allowed for easy exploration of the city's rich history and culture. After a day of sightseeing, the hotel's restaurant, with its delicious Romanian cuisine, became a favorite spot. The nearby Piata Mare, surrounded by colorful baroque buildings, offered a lively atmosphere for evening strolls and people-watching. In essence, Hotel Continental Forum in Sibiu provided not just a comfortable stay but a delightful immersion into the city's ambiance. Can't go wrong with downtown classic. Just a stroll away from the old center with all its history, bars and restaurants, the Ramada Sibiu kinda has it all. Location, view, generous apartments with kitchenette for families, decent indoor and outdoor parking (upon availability - no reservations), large restaurant and plenty of meeting space. Yup, they sometimes have a dodgy elevator and no pool, but hey, no one's perfect! Tip: try to get a room opposite the elevators at a superior level so that you can enjoy the view - you van see the mountains on a clear day ;)

This hotel was in a great location and easy walking distance from the town centre which boasts a good range of restaurants and bars. Check in was easy and efficient even though we arrived very late. The room was comfortable and well equipped with a comfortable bed, air-con, hairdryer, TV etc. The negative points were the WiFi which was terrible and continually dropping. The safe which had contradicting instructions labelled on the outside and on a sheet of paper inside. Neither instructions worked. Housekeeping were odd as they seems to change towels but that’s it, no tidying the bed or replenishing the toiletries. I also am not fond of these small bottles of shower gel and shampoo, not very environmentally friendly and just a pain to use. I would stay at the hotel again.

In fact, I had a reservation, but I refused to stay at the hotel due to the conditions and the rudeness of the staff (who were probably following the owner's instructions). The German-named hotel, a rip-off, was pretty much like the one I got with Johannis. You check in, go to your room, and find that it's very hot. You fiddle with the high-tech AC control system on a tablet embedded in the wall, only to discover that it's already set to the minimum temperature with the ventilation at maximum, yet it still displays 27 degrees in the room. You take off your shoes and sit by the ventilation grille, noticing a slight breeze (and I'm not exaggerating, just a slight breeze) that probably aims for 25-26 degrees. I've spent several years cumulatively in hotels, so I know their tricks. I open TripAdvisor and search for reviews, and of course, all the ones from the summer period complain about the lack of AC. I go down to the reception and ask the lady there if they have any rooms where the AC works and if they won't shuffle me from room to room as they did with other tourists who had written about this ”strategy,” probably devised by the rude owner. The lady assures me that she will solve my problem: two more rooms and luggage tours through the hotel, only to find out that it was exactly as I suspected: no room could provide a decent temperature. The lowest was 26 degrees with the AC running at maximum for 5 hours (in a colleague's room who had arrived earlier). I don't understand two things: How does a place like this get a 4-star rating? Probably the same way gas stations between buildings do. What kind of owner is so rude and stingy that they won't solve the problem and won't instruct their staff to try to fool the customer by shuffling them from room to room, even though they have reviews from 2022 pointing out the issue? PS: I mustn't forget two more aspects: brown wooden doors in a design with white and gray in the rooms; it's as if a blind person thought of the color combination. The parking lot might be enough for 10% of the rooms, and the reception lady encourages you to park at the nearby Mega Image supermarket where the parking spaces are marked as for the store's customers. When you ask if that's not a problem, you're told to put your car in a less noticeable spot in the back; otherwise, the store staff might notice and come to ”complain” about it. This is Romanian tourism (even with a German name) in the ”land of well-done things.”

This hotel is on the parc. The rooms are decent. Mixture of new stylisch design and Romanian. The breakfast, menu of the restaurant and employees are typically romanian. This is nice in one way. Not nice if you like a burger or when you try to pay and you are asked to come back later because a more important group need to leave. I would have given 4 starts without this incident because it gave me a feeling that I was less important to them. When a group want to leave on team the group leader needs to get up 15 minutes before is my advise. The location of the hotel is beatifull on the park. There is a playground in the parc for childeren so I will come back with my daughter. Employees are friendly.

I visited Sibiu for a business meeting and stayed at this hotel. Rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was good although although not very diverse (I did not expect more). The restaurant was also good and the location was quite an relatively close to the center (in Sibiu everything seems to be relatively close). It was a good hotel experience.

Very weird experience. On one hand, the place looked new and modern. On the other hand, we had issues at check in so we got another set of rooms with same rate and somehow didn’t annulate the one over booking. But let’s say it was fixed. Bathroom was smelling bad and shower had issues. Bathroom needs clear renovation! Even worst, the lady at the reception came over me in the room and ran. I screamed because I was like *** and went on the hall because I assumed my door didn’t close if someone came in. And it was no room service. Someone yelled sorry from the hall and did not turn around. Even weirder, every day leaving with the car the receptionist was running after us to check out??? I mean, they have the visa if we were to leave. Just really off experience.

The atmosphere in this hotel, in this period of time is amazing: Christmas Trees, Christmas Carols, even the smell from halls reminder of Christmas Seasons. The breakfast was very, very good. Everything your heart desire. The food from traditional restaurant was very tasty, specially goulash. Friendly staff
