I 100% recommend Golden Butterfly Villa. My mom and i stayed there for 3 nights and i must say the room was clean, tidy but a little bit small. 5min walk from beer street. The personal was so so so nice and helpful. 10 out of 10

Hotel was in a good location, and staff were friendly. There is a school outside that is very loud, they do warn you though.

The reception staff were polite and enthusiastic in providing practical travel information. The building was very unique and the room was very clean and tidy. The noise problem mentioned by others was indeed encountered. Since I only stayed for one night, I could accept it. There was a sign on the door saying "Do Not Clean Do Not Disturb", but at 9:30 and 10:30 in the morning, the cleaning staff opened the door with the key without knocking. I was shocked, twice.

Even as a Japanese person with a heart for hospitality, I felt that the service couldn't be better. I was very grateful that they provided drinks even after I checked out.

The staff were really helpful.
It was very nice that I could personally rent a bicycle (very convenient for getting around nearby).
