Smart Angkor Boutique

I staid for a few nights, good price with breakfast. The breakfast was excellent really. A good room, clean, air-con and clean, good hot shower. The reception staff were professional and I had no issues during my stay. It also had a pool and the wifi was good. I would stay again. And the location could not be better.

There is nothing “Smart” about this hotel, or the staff who attempt to run it. When I checked in at about 9pm I was told my room was going to be “loud” because it directly faced the late-night Temple nightclub – no pre-warning about this. He spoke very limited English and had very little understanding of it – but he was only partially right. The noise was not only loud but deafening, but the room couldn’t be changed because they were “full” – which they obviously weren’t. Then the key to the room didn’t work as there were no electrics, so he had to change the key. Then the AC didn’t work, the fridge didn’t work, and neither did the ceiling fan. And none of them never did. This place is rated 4 stars but deserves none. Would-be travellers to Siem Reap should avoid this place like the plague. At no point was I offered any compensation – only indifference for my two nights of Hell. The Wi-Fi is also rubbish.

Bad hotel. Supposedly 4 star, but seems like 1 star. Say bye bye to relax and comfort as mosquitoes continue their daily job of invading you, combined with painful noises from the nearby pub, up until 4am (shout out to night owls) and say hello to hunger as they have limited breakfast options (3, yes THREE options) Don’t bring heavy luggage as you’ll have to carry them down yourself (in the morning, they don’t have any porter to help you) All requests will be rejected by them - “as per our policy, we don’t…”

Beware the noise. This hotel is quite literally next door to a loud Khmer nightclub that goes until 0100. The hotel asks you to sign a waiver so you won't complain about the noise, it's that bad. Bed was hard. Bathroom/toilet smelt like sewage, toilet seat broken. Continuous power cuts. Pro - fairly close to pub street. You can do better.
