Since seeing the Siglo on a day trip to Siglufjordur in 2017 I have wanted to stay there. Now was the time to fulfill one of the items on my bucket list. It did not disappoint. We had a gorgeous room overlooking the harbour so you can watch the fishing boats come in & spot the eider ducks scrapping. The bed was comfy, nice bathroom, warm room and oh the view. We dined in the restaurant on both nights and had delicious food from a small menu. An excellent buffet breakfast was also on offer. Soaking in the lava hot tub outside was bliss and of course if you can tear yourself away there’s lots to see in this quiet corner of Iceland. Maybe I’ll never stay again but it’s high up on my list of good life experiences.

This is an outstanding hotel which lives up to all the positive reviews and exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spotless, service attentive and food excellently prepared, cooked and presented. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Can't wait to return.

Everything was perfect. It was just wonderful to relax in the hot tub and the location is perfect. Breakfast was really good, lots to chose from. It is really easy to go to Ólafsfjörður and also to Akureyri.

Hervorragendes Frühstück mit großer Auswahl. Und ein toller Wellnessbereich mit warmen Außenpool, einer Elektrosauna beides direkt am Hafen und einem traumhaften Meerblick wo man bis Abends 22Uhr entspannen konnte. Wir hatten ein großes und liebevoll eingerichtetes Zimmer ebenfalls mit Meerblick. Die Rezeption war 24 Stunden besetzt und jederzeit hilfsbereit und freundlich. Man konnte auch im hoteleigenen Restaurant optional zu Abend essen, welches eine gehobene Küche anbietet und sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Die Lage des Hotels ist direkt am Hafen in Siglufjörður unweit von ein paar Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten inmitten eines wunderschönen Fjords im Norden Islands etwa eine Stunde von der Ringstraße entfernt.

The view from the hotel is extraordinary, the rooms are very cosy and the hot tube a perfect extra. The staff was very welcoming and caring. The breakfast is rich and the town very nice and typical Icelandic.
