We appreciated the front desk crew, manager, and the breakfast lady at the Black Beach INN. We stayed from May 19 to May 21st 2024, and I had called ahead to request a room. The manager Jeff gave us a room with a lovely view out the back with green space, and Lake Superior in the distance. We enjoyed the location in between Duluth and Grand Marais. There was a group in house for our first night, and it was noisy. Our second night was quite peaceful. We would stay there again when it is not crowded. The breakfast was normal with waffles, eggs, and sausage, with bananas and apples also available. The lady who took care of the breakfast space was very kind and worked hard. The beds and pillows were fine in the room, and in our double queen room, it was nice to have the sink and mirror outside of the bathroom. What is needed is a second bedside table, hooks on the walls for hanging jackets, purses etc., and a recycle bin. It seems that MN hotels do not recycle in general, which is a huge shame for the environment.
