We were a group of 10 with overland Camper vans & camped in quaint 'Shanty City' with donkey fired showers - if you equipped to camp without electricity supply - its a stunning camp.

Wunderschöne kleine Häuschen mit allem, was man braucht . Herzlichen Dank für die nette Betreuung! Speziell an Yanko ! Und an Frikkie für die traumhafte Sundowner Fahrt. Und das Essen muss erwähnt werden: super! Und die phantastische Natur ringsherum. Wir freuen uns auf ein Wiedersehen!

We stayed five nights in one of the two SC Chalets and enjoyed every minute. The dinner was amazing, the room spacious and well equipped. The SC Chalet is a place, where you can stay even two weeks. Wifi is working well everywhere. Janko, the manager is very nice and Frikkie, the owner very friendly and helpful. There is really nothing to complain....you can see it in the comments! Hope to return and to stayeven longer.

Auf Empfehlung einer Freundin, baute ich die Campsite der Lodge in unsere Südroute mit ein. Die ganze Anlage und die Campsites waren noch schöner, als erwartet. Wir waren früh da und konnten uns eine der 3 Campsites aussuchen und wählten die Nr. 1. Die Campsite verfügt über ein privates Bad mit Dusche und WC, welches in einem Wellblech-Häuschen eingebaut wurde. Alles zwar einfach und zweckmäßig, aber sehr geschmackvoll und mit Liebe dekoriert. Nur heizte sich das Wellblechhausnbei über 40 Grad im Schatten sehr schnell auf. Und die Dachkonstruktion davor mit Bambusrohren, bot leider nur mäßig Schatten. Doch da wir uns auf dem ganzen Gelände aufhalten konnten und auch den Pool nutzen durften, war der Aufenthalt hier sehr angenehm! Beeindruckend auch die legendäre Sukkulentensammlung. Beim Sundowner auf der Terrasse der Lodge konnten wir am Wasserloch einige Antilopen beobachten. Morgens begrüßten uns auf der Campsite Perlhühner und Springböcke. Das ganze Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl hier. Kleiner Wermutstropfen in der Nacht: ein Genrator erzeugte lauten Motorenlärm und ließ uns leider nicht so gut schlafen. Trotzdem eine klare Empfehlung und gerne kommen wir wieder.

Lithops, and railway history, lots to see at Alte Kalkofen. South central, ideally located to see Southern Namibia, Fish River Canyon, Luderitz, Aus, Bethanie & Helmering. Or gateway to Namib Desert. Ideal stopover from RSA. Excellent food, good wine selection. Attention to detail. The value of owner management is often missed.

what a gem in a beautiful setting. Lovely pool and area is stunning. We camped overnight but had a light meal in the evening which was totally delicious. would recommend staying here if passing through.

True Namibian farm style hospitality right in the desert. Beautiful setting with spectacular sunset. Friendly staff and delicious food! Frikkie, the owner was very frienfly and even served us on the evening. The nursery was amazing! We loved our stay!

The hosts and the whole team gave us such a warm welcome and gave there time & heart. So it was such an outstanding Chris**as there! We will never forget!! Thank you so much!! The farm is so nicely decorated and every detail is precious.
