This was a great place to stay in downtown. It was convenient to all the sites and restaurants, our room was clean and very spacious with a fabulous view of the mountains and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There was even a very convenient shuttle to the airport.

Shuttle service was great. That’s the best I can say. After three attempts I was finally given a room that was serviced. At least the third room had view better than the broken factory window next door. Given a choice of the Sika Hotel or anywhere else….take anywhere else.

I got stranded in Sitka after my flight couldn’t land in Juneau. I booked a room for the night, the shuttle hotel was very convenient, the front desk staff was super nice and it was within walking distance from many places. Not at all mad I was stuck in Sitka for a day.

I spent three nights at the Sitka Hotel. I can’t praise them enough. The hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of most Sitka attractions. The rooms were immaculately clean and well appointed. The hotel has a free shuttle to/from the airport. But the best thing by far was Clare, the woman who staffed the front desk after 1pm. She is kind, efficient, extremely knowledgeable about Sitka, and very professional. I’m an older woman with low vision and was unexpectedly traveling alone. She helped me with many challenges and truly made my stay in Sitka memorable. I strongly recommend the Sitka Hotel. It’s a gem!!

This hotel needs a lot of attention. The staff was up knowledgeable and very unwelcoming. We booked our stay here because it said it provided shuttles to and from the airport and the ferry — which upon arrival they said they do not do anymore. Their “continental breakfast” was slices of bread and butter or cereal — no other options.
The room was fine and the location was great to downtown but everything else was pretty bad. They definitely seem like they are in a desperate state within that hotel and it needs a lot of attention to fix it up for future stayers.

Very noisy, especially on Friday and Saturday night. Most of the hotel overlooks Ernies bar which is the local "dance club" at night. The room was not cleaned before my arrival. There was dental floss and rubber bands for braces on the bathroom floor from the previous guest, as well as a gummy substance on the carpet in the middle of the room. I found a sock under the bed from someone else as well. Obviously not cleaned. The breakfast is scant -- some cereal and milk, coffee, and some energy bars. Fairly weak even for a "continental" breakfast. Front desk staff were pleasant and accommodating. They were helpful with storing our luggage. Wifi was good. Airport shuttle comes before flight departures. Location was convenient, right downtown.

Absolutely incredible views from the penthouse suite, very comfortable bed, and great location in downtown. BUT…there was no hot water to the tub/shower and it was not remedied by the time I checked out, and there was no table or chair to sit in for reading/computer work/eating even though there was a great space for that in the back room of the suite which had a great rooftop view of downtown. Missed opportunities for a perfect stay instead of just an OK stay in a gorgeous town.

I would say this is a Great Place to stay in Sitka. Close to the water. Friendly staff and it was great to be able to walk right from the hotel around the shops downtown. The airport shuttle was very convenient. The lobby was clean and had a breakfast bar.
