I was trying to find a place to relax with my husband and i feel really lucky to find Scaleta Beach Hotel. It was exactly what we expected! We passed an unforgetable week with the best view i have ever seen by the swimming pool, relaxing and having fun. All the staff was amazing and the reception team was very helpful, having always a big smile and a good advice for anything you need! The rooms are nice and very clean and the area around the hotel makes you feel being home! The food is really delicious with enough choices for every taste. The beach is accessible in a few minutes on foot and even though the weather was not so good we really enjoyed it! We have nothing bad to say about this beautiful and well organised hotel! If you want to live a memorable holiday visit Scaleta Beach Hotel and its wonderful team!! We will surely come back!

After reading the reviews we were a little bit confused....Everything is exactly as we booked so there wasn't anything that we were surprised about...A small family hotel with the staff working as a team to give you the best of themselves. Rooms have been always clean and provided with the basics needs. The food has always something for a vegetarian and a lot of fresh salads and fruits. About the beach they could not do anything more as you can't fight the weather and the sea. Only negative was a group of six person that tried their best to upset everyone including us as a couple. Sometimes the problem comes from the people not the hotel. Hope to see you again team Scaleta!

Me and my partner had a great time at this all inclusive hotel and it was much more than we expected. The pool and terrace area is amazing with near panoramic views over the White Mountains and sea, with perfect sunsets. The room was basic but very clean and comfortable, nice comfy pillows and cleaned daily. Food was lovely and we always found a meal to tantilise our taste buds. Christiana on reception was brilliant, really helpful and great to have a chat with, she will help with anything. Overall a fantastic stay and highly recommended.

Scaleta beach is a great place to have a relaxing holiday. Adults only. We chose a last minute holiday just to get away for a week! We just wanted a bed, a pool, food and drink. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Reception was very helpful with excursions, car hire and always happy to have a little chat. Food was very good. Something for everyone. Room and surroundings were always tidy and clean, even though the weather was very windy and dusty. Views are great. Sunset views at the pool bar were amazing. Sadly, there was a group of people who just moaned and groaned. Quite rude. Hotel is exactly as described, it's a 3 star not 5. So much to enjoy and see instead of moaning. Hotel is on a hill so not recommended for people with health or mobility issues. Keep smiling Scaleta!

Where do I start, don't even waste your money, arrived to see a beautiful view and pool, then went downhill rapidly, the rooms were nothing as described, more like a hostel with a bathroom, then you had to hold the shower as it would not stay up without soaking the whole bathroom, we booked as a party of 6, took an hour to convince the staff yo let us all sit together at meals, which were very bland and greasy, had all inclusive, but eat out a few times, so extra cost. Some staff were ok but there was a language barrier that made it difficult, back office male was very abusive to one of our party in front of other guests, which has been taken further as was not acceptable. I could ho on for days but not enough room, all I can say is avoid this hotel as not worth a penny, and we were not the only guest to feel this way. Reading other people's reviews from previous weeks it seems whoever replies on the hotels behalf has an excuse for everything, but until you have stayed there you will never know. We saved all year for this holiday which was a nightmare 😫

Reception staff were rude and tutting and huffing when we were asking questions. The all inclusive didn’t contain all the drink we were very limited on what we could drink. Rooms had termites on the bottom of the external wooden doors. People were asked to be quite in the lounge area whilst playing cards We had a 4ft and a single bed in the room which when we asked to move they said it is what it is. When we asked for a complaints form they said they didn’t have one. Many over people were asking to be moved by our holiday rep.

What to say, good and bad. Rooms are acceptable, cleaned every day, the hotel itself and pool area are very nice with fantastic views over the bay. Food is not the best with very limited choice, the bar opens at 11 in the morning but closes sharp 10pm, given it's a holiday destination and along with the bar closing and everything else closed by 10pm not the best, won't be back.

We just wanted a holiday of sunshine and relaxing. Then, after reading some reviews, well, we got a little concerned! Bit of advice, go on the hotel website and see what hotel is actually offering etc. Reception staff welcoming and explained a few things to start. You can book day trips, cars at reception and it has a mini market. The hotel is built up on a hill and there are steps. So a bit of a hike, but we used little side road after when we got our bearings and settled in. The way it's planned, it's like being in a little mountain village. Higher up you go the more quiet and amazing the views. Lovely gardens, with lemon trees, different flowers and fresh herbs like mint and oregano growing even. Cleaning ladies came everyday(except on Sundays). Everywhere kept clean. Food choice is very good for 3☆. Breakfasts are great. Lunch and dinner buffets have something for everyone. Bar is next to pool and in evenings, a great spot to watch sun set and drink a few cocktails! Everyone at hotel was helpful and friendly even though very busy sometimes. We were pleasantly surprised and had a lovely holiday just as we wanted.

We have just booked our next holiday at Scaleta for August 24.We had such a lovely time in June, we couldn't wait to book again. We had no problems 1st time round (although yes there are steps everywhere not for people with health issues!). All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel grounds and rooms kept very clean. It's not modern but it had everything we needed in our room. We did hire a kettle and fridge. We had days by the pool and great days out. Super views all around especially the sunsets! The breakfasts had everything from full English breakfast to fruit and yogurt and honey and pancakes and cereal...everything. The main menus were tasty Greek, Mediterranean and loads of salad, vegetable options for vegetarians. There was also safe foods, pasta, pizzas, mash potato and chips. Good idea to rent a car, if not, loads of excursions to book at reception. The local town of Rethymnon 20 mins by bus. Loads to see and do there! Just a happy, relaxing laid back holiday atmosphere, see you again soon Scaleta!.
