Property has too many stairs There is a lift on the other side of the building,but it is not advertised

Comfortable family hotel on the edge of the dales. We were given rooms in the annex where the lift was out of order the whole stay and the roof was leaking on the stairwell will white mould on the carpet. The room was comfortable enough and the breakfast was very good.

The hotel was charming, well managed and staff were wonderful throughout my stay, they could not do enough for you. Room was spotless and the lovely hot shower was perfect after an amazing night sleep in a comfy bed. I was sad to egress after a wonderful weekend away, I will definitely return.

My experience at the hotel was fantastic. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, and the receptionists were incredibly friendly. I loved the views of the canal from the rear of the hotel - it added such a lovely touch to the stay. Parking was convenient, and being close to town made exploring easy. The room was well-equipped with complimentary toiletries, and the hot cooked breakfast options were delicious and satisfying. Overall, it was a delightful stay! There were a few aspects that detracted from my experience. Firstly, the noise from the circuit breaker panel made it difficult to sleep soundly. Additionally, the thin walls meant that I could easily hear my neighbours, which disrupted my peace and quiet. The mattress on the single bed felt quite springy and uncomfortable. Lastly, the loose door handle was a minor inconvenience. Overall, these factors made my stay less enjoyable.

Staff are lovely and very helpful , happily storing our bikes for us. Not the same service as other hotels but staff were visible and on hand if needed. Great location right next to the canal. Good breakfast and the waiter was especially friendly and helpful. Although our room was well equipped, with a hairdryer, tea making facilities, we thought the over all look was drab. The cushion and throw did not look fresh on and we both didn't sleep well as the bed was too hard. This could be our personal preference however we travel 4/5 times a year and this is the first time in many years we have not had a good sleep due to the bed. I asked staff in the morning if it would be possible to get a mattress topper , they said they would do their best. We were out all day and that night I noticed a mattress protector had been put on. At least they had tried. We had a good time in Skipton but we would look for alternative accommodation next time.

The staff in the hotel and the food are all 4 star. The area is local to the town the staff could not be bettered. In fact I have travelled in Europe for years and many 4 stars do not come near this quality. Bedrooms are dated and the stairs are steep to a 75 year old but that's life. A lift would be great. Beds are comfy.

Such a noisy room on a busy main road, opposite the fire station and railway station. Service on quality of breakfast on the second day was unacceptable. Uncooked bacon with raw fat and soil in the mushrooms.

Where to start.....We got married at Herriots Hotel on Saturday the 13th of April this year & it was absolutely everything that we could have hoped for & more. We were so well looked after from start to finish by the most friendly, dedicated & hardworking team. Nothing was too much trouble for them & the organisation & room turn around was seamless on the day. We were fortunate enough to have the newly refurbished Rosewood Suite for our wedding reception & evening party, which all our guests loved & it looked absolutely beautiful. The wedding breakfast was delicious, as was the evening choice of hot bacon & sausage sandwiches. We had a really lovely, comfortable stay in the bridal suite & a delicious breakfast the following morning. The biggest thankyou, however, goes to Chris Fenton, the hotel & events manager. Thank you so much for all your efforts in making our day truly special & absolutely unforgettable. You were so lovely, attentive & accomodating, going above & beyond throughout the whole day & during our planning meetings. You really are amazing at what you do & we would absolutely highly recommend you & your lovely team to any couple's thinking of booking Herriots as their wedding venue. A huge thank you again!
